I chose a Berber carpet for a challenging large area basement (1500 sq ft), and BLP carpets had a competitive price compared to Home Depot. The first installation, however, had an unacceptable seam, which ultimately BLP and an inspector determined to be the fault of the carpet manufacturer. BLP reinstalled at no extra cost. BLP stands behind their work!

Recently they've made repairs in my carpet and you can't even tell. They are really really good and the installers are great. They are a family run company.

We are repeat customers, so I could stop there, I’m sure my
review a few years ago was also glowing. Great carpet options, for an
unbeatable price (we have done our comparison shopping)! In our new house, we ordered a patterned
carpet for our master bedroom. We know there must be a seam, but we cannot see
it, the installation was that good. Plus Jerome, the avuncular owner and
patriarch of the family-run business, is very kind and likes to share stories
from his 40 years of experience in the business. Once he gets the room
dimensions (measured by their expert who’s also been on the job for a long
time) he lays out a plan to minimize the waste and thus the cost. He even talked us out of replacing a carpet which
just needed to be cleaned. I love giving BLP my business.

Went in twice to look at carpet before buying. Spoke with Jerome both times and he was very patient and helpful. Was able to go with a remnant for the enclosed balcony and a nice oatmeal colored carpet for a small bedroom. Excellent price which included padding and installation. Installers were an hour late but they called to let me know. Can't hold it against them too much since DC traffic can be horrible. Installers were friendly and professional when they arrived and they helped me move the heavier furniture back once the carpet was installed. Both rooms look great and we have had a number of positive comments from friends and neighbors. Will be using them again if we need more carpet.

They were excellent, they came at the exact time that they said they would be here. They had estimated a time that they would be done and they were done before then. They cleaned up after themselves. I would use them again.

When we went in, they told us what they normally recommend for installing carpet into rental units. We chose to upgrade one level above that. It seemed that their pricing was very good. They were very responsive and they followed up with us even when we didn't with them. I was very happy with the people. The installation went well.

Store staff (Joe and Jordan) were helpful and provided multiple price and quality options. Measurement was taken on time and quick. Installer crew arrived on the date planned even a few minutes early and worked efficiently to do all of the removal and install. Carpet looks professional and well done. They even helped us with a separate carpet problem (seam issue) once their job was done. Overall, an excellent experience.

The stores staff was very patient as we shopped and priced carpeting - they were knowledgeable and answered our questions, but not at all pushy. They scheduled a person to make professional measurements, and it was very quick turn around; the order-to-installation process took a max of 10 days. They willingly accommodated special request to have track strips glued instead of nailed into our sub-basement, and that was no problem. A pleasant experience all around.

They worked out all the details of installation and ordered the exact brand we wanted. The installers showed up exactly when promised, actually a couple of hours early. The existing carpet was removed and the areas cleaned prior to the new carpet and padding being installed. Everything went and turned out great, any issues that they had questions about were addressed to me at the time and done to my satisfaction.

Very good. Tried to match carpet that I have in my current apartment. Owner spent lots of time with me, helping me match it. Also though my carpet was no longer being made, he made phone calls to see if he could locate some in storage. Carpet was installed quickly and properly.

I called BLP carpets because a tenant moved out of my rental unit and left significant red stains in the carpet in one of the bedrooms and a dining room. Since the dining room and living room are open space, I had to replace all of the carpet. I called on a Thursday and their estimator was out to measure by Saturday. I had an estimate by the following Monday and was able to have the work done that Friday (after Thanksgiving). I think they were pretty fast.
I think the price was decent, but then again, this is a rental unit and I don't have to live there! If it were my own home, I would have definitely upgraded the padding. It is pretty thin and insignificant. The associates at the store were able to email me pictures of the two common beige options they use and I picked everything over the phone - saved me the hassle of going to the store. The installation was pretty fast too. I think they were finished in about an hour and that included removal of the old carpet. Keep in mind, the condo was empty so they didn't have to move anything to do the work. I enjoyed the experience and plan to use them when I purchase carpet for my own home.

BLP has a small showroom -- made good recommendations for quality of carpet to use as I was getting ready to sell my home. Someone came out to measure, and they called with total price, which included taking up old carpet and disposing of it, installing new pad and carpet. Price was $700-$1000 below other places I checked with and quality was better. BLP Carpets also offered to get small samples for me, which were sent to my house. The samples were very helpful in my final decision. An error was made in what I was charged versus what I was quoted. BLP quickly made the correction once I called it to their attention.

I am a property owner and I needed to get carpet replaced after a previous tenant had a large, smelly dog. I called BLP and they recommended a lower-priced, highly recommended carpet and pad to replace the carpet and pad that were previously installed. The installation was completed quickly, and they were able to complete it on a Friday afternoon, right after the tenant had moved out. I had a tight schedule between tenants, and they were very accommodating. The carpet and pad were cheaper than the ones previously installed, and the quality of both the products and the installation appeared superior. I'm very happy with BLP and plan to use them for my primary residence in the near future.

I had an excellent experience with this company. I saw the reviews on Angie's List and decided to call for an estimate because I had just received an estimate from Home Depot that seemed high. I was also looking for an installer that would be likely to do a good job; Home Depot subcontracts and sometimes the subcontrators are good and sometimes they are not so terrific. We are listing the house for sale very soon so I needed quick service. Joe came over the same day I called and measured the areas and discussed our carpet needs with us. He provided a sample of carpet they keep in stock. I did not have to go to their store, which was good, because it would have been hard to do that as busy as we are at the moment. Their price was good, much better than Home Depot for similar carpet/pad. In addition, they do not charge extra for moving furniture, and we had several large pieces. Their crew showed up on time, were professional and neat, and worked very hard. The installation looks very good! I was very impressed and would use BLP again.

This company is fair and outstanding in every way. Extremely ethical They recommended a cheaper carpet that would do the same job we wanted done as a more expensive one. they were prompt, reliable, price was very fair and reasonable and the carpet layers did a beautiful job.

We were missing some tiles that would have made the floor underneath uneven--They brought extra tiles and cut them to size for no extra charge. Everyone associated with this company is honorable and first class.

I got there name from angie's List and every good thing people said about them is true.

Jerome and Dick at BLP are great--very friendly, lots of knowledge, but no sales pressure. We actually ended up going with a more expensive option than the one Dick initially pointed out. The store is in a kind of industrial area but very nice inside. Prices were very reasonable compared to other carpet stores in the area, and include pads and installation. The carpet itself was top-quality and the installation was flawless throughout the house. It looks fantastic. Jerome was very accommodating about doing the installation on two separate days due to some work we were doing in our house. I highly recommend them.

They were just very thorough and very neat. They were very professional and helpful. They were upfront, when we went and picked up the carpet. They followed through. They did an outstanding job. They were on their schedule, when they promise to install. The work was done efficiently and quickly. We would definitely recommend them.

We have used BLP for the past 15 years. The owner, Jerome, is honest, pleasant and very knowledgeable. He has always been forthright about giving you your options regarding quality and price. The installations have always been "PERFECT" with absolutely no problems what so ever. BLP is a perfect example of a small business that does it right. There is an obvious reason why, in the days of the big chain stores, they are still in business and doing well.
