It went very well, after the first installation I knew I would go back to Artelye. I purchased Ferro Gold granite for the basement and the price w installation was reasonable, timing after the cabinets were installed was pretty quick. I purchased Delicatus White for my kitchen. I had three pieces installed in the kitchen island and they were very detailed in making sure the measurements would work and all three pieces would go in with no problem. in addition there was additional level of difficultly even on the counter area, but the installers were experienced and diligent and they got it done. Everything looks just great.

While the countertop looks nice installation was rough. For starters, they forgot to seal one portion of the countertop to the actual cabinet so it was completely removable. They had to come back out to connect that piece. After it was connected we found out that it wasn't cut straight and while there was a 3/8" gap between it and the over at the back, the front had less than a 1/4" gap so it looked horrible. We were told that they would cut it on site if possible and if not they would have to take it back and then reinstall later. They elected to cut on site. Why? Because they chose to cut the BACK portion that was flush against the wall instead of cutting the side that was up next to the oven. Would it work... yeah. Was it the cheap way to fix it... yeah. Did it actually look correct after that... no. You could still tell that it wasn't a straight cut but it did look slightly better. Why did they choose that way to fix it? Because it meant they didn't have to re-polish the viewable side against the oven. Additionally, the saw they used on their truck was ROUGH and looked pretty brutal up against the wall (we didn't have a backsplash installed so the cut was very obvious and there were gouges in the quartz). Since we purchased the service through Home Depot (HD) we tried to work through them but HD was horrible about communication. My husband ended up fixing it himself.

I purchased countertops through Home Depot that were installed by Artelye. When they were installed, the corner piece that is most noticeable in my kitchen has a bevel that suddenly stops about 2" from the wall. When I reached out, I got no answer. One month later, I reached out again and was told that they could send someone out to fix it but couldn't guarantee there would be no damage to the backsplash that had been installed or the grouting. After months and months of living in a kitchen renovation, back-tracking due to damage isn't an option we were willing to take so I asked for a partial refund and have been declined. I attached photos of the piece in question and also the CAD drawing I approved to show the layman that this couldn't make sense to someone not in the business what they were planning on doing. Piece 2 is the issue. "Stop edge here" I would presume was because that was where the doorway was -- they could go no further. The piece in my dining room on the bar has an almost identical edge at a doorway, but the bevel goes all the way back. I am very disappointed that there is such an ugly piece of what would have been a nice job and they see no issue here.

This was our first kitchen remodel and we didn't have any experience with countertops. We had already checked out a bunch of other countertop stores before we came across Artelye. We went to their showroom and that's where we met our awesome sales person, Aaron. He was easy to talk to and filled us in with the necessary details regarding countertops, the installation process etc. From templating to installation, it all went flawlessly. We have had our Giallo Fiorito granite in the kitchen for over three months now and it looks absolutely beautiful. We are planning on doing a complete remodel of our two bathrooms towards the end of the year and we will definitely go with Artelye.

I have nothing but good things to say about Artelye. Hien and Nam gave us fantastic service, and the countertops from Artelye turned out beautifully. I also went to several marble and granite vendors and Artelye by far offered the best prices for quality counters.

Artelye markets itself as a name synonymous with quality and this simply was not our experience.  We purchased a $3,000 granite kitchen countertop from them and we have been dissapointed  ever since.

The large granite countertop is the centerpiece of our kitchen and it looks very  unattractive.  I have two issues with Artelye.
First, they gave us bad advice.  Second, they failed to take responsibility for the waterspots  that ruined our granite.

Advice:  We originally wanted a marble countertop, but the salesperson said we would have to sign a waiver if we purchased the marble because if was much more prone to water spots.  They recommended the granite top that looks like marble, but would not have waterspots.  Unfortunately, we listened to their advice.

Responsibility:  After coming to the house and inspecting the countertop a couple of weeks after it was installed, Artelye claimed that the the waterspots were our fault.  They said we must have used a cleaning compound that removed the original sealant.  We informed them that we did not and  that the granite must not have been properly sealed before leaving their store.

After several months of not receiving a response from the owner of the company, Artelye again simply stated that it was our fault and made no effort to compensate us for the poor quality product they sold us. Now, we are forced to live with a countertop covered with water spots.

Artelye is not a name synonymous with quality.

I absolutely cannot say enough good things about my experience with Artelye. Joshua Smith is the residential sales manager and I can honestly say he is one of the most customer-satisfaction oriented people I have ever met. I went to their shop in July, as it turns out far too early for choosing actual slabs. But it was perfect to confirm which granite best matched my floor and cabinets.

Joshua told me to come back when I got an cabinet installation date and he could hold the slabs I chose for about 2 weeks. He explained the issue of holding slabs longer than that is that slabs come in lots, just like dye lots for fabric. If I chose too early, all the other slabs from my lot might get sold. If anything went wrong in the fabrication process, he would end up stuck with something like one and a half usable slabs. Made sense that I should wait to choose. He promised to call me when he got his next delivery of Madura Gold, so I could have first choice of the slabs that would be delivered.

One of the things I liked about Artelye is that they take digital pictures of your actual slabs and work out a couple of seam designs on a CAD program and let you choose the one you like. I am a control freak and really liked the idea that I'd know exactly what I was getting.

Here are some of the things I really appreciated about my experience with the company:
  • My Friday off was about three weeks before the cabinet installation date, and Artelye didn't expect any more deliveries of Madura Gold before my granite would be installed, so Joshua agreed to store the slabs for a longer period than normal.
  • He laid out the seam patterns and I told him that I would prefer the grain to run in the opposite direction of what he'd done. So he did the whole thing over again. I loved the second design. If you look at my kitchen/powder room and compare to his designs, you will see that I got EXACTLY what was presented to me in the design.
  • I was having the backsplash go up to the window sill and he had a design idea that I couldn't quite follow on the phone, so he spent an hour in the CAD program drawing it up so I could make an informed decision about whether I wanted it.
  • We went back and forth about some details and I was worried that they wouldn't be able to make the installation date, but he made sure that they did.
  • The installers made some good suggestions about the placement of my faucet handles in the powder room.Joshua did an amazing job in locating the seams and the installers did a fine job on the installation. One of the seams is so hard to find that you actually have to put your face near the granite to find it. The other is by a window so is apparent by the glare. But it's right in front of the sink (which I agreed to), so is only about 3 inches long.
  • As I mentioned above, we had our outlets put into the granite backsplash. The installers were surprised that they would have to cut these holes, so I guess that was a bit of a communication disconnect on the part of the company, but the installers did a fine job.

All in all, I am extremely satisfied with both the product I received and the entire experience I had with the company.

It was a nightmare. First, I had problems actually setting up an appointment to have the countertop measured and installed. Kathy, the woman who was my facilitator, often didn't return messages. Consequently, I couldn't find out when they were installing the countertops in time to actually ask for the day off work. On the day of the installation, I was told that the installers would show up between noon and 3 p.m. By 3:30 p.m. I still hadn't heard a word from them. I left a message with Kathy and when I didn't hear back, I called her again. She said the installers had gotten caught up on a previous job and that they would be at my apt after 5 p.m. Shortly after 5 p.m. the two installers showed up to put in my countertop, which is one piece and goes in a small kitchen. The installers decided that the piece was too heavy and they needed to cut it into two pieces so they could lift it into place. Despite my strenuous objections about this (since my countertop is less than 24 ft total, minus the sink), they wouldn't be budged. I suggested they put the granite on a blanket and slide it into the kitchen but then they said they'd need me to sign a form relieving them of any responsibility if they damaged either the granite or any part of my condo. At that point, I concluded that they had no intention of installing my small countertop in once piece and would damage my apt. if I continued to insist on it. I agreed to let them cut it. However, since they got to my place so late, that meant that they couldn't get it back to the factory to cut as the factory was closed. They said they'd have to return in the morning, at the same time when I had scheduled a plumber to show up to hook up my new sink and faucet. Long story short, I felt like Artelye's workers cared more about themselves than they did about doing a good job for their customers. I'd advise anyone thinking of buying countertops at Home Depot (in Alexandria -- I'm not sure if Artelye contracts with other HD's in different cities), against doing it. It's been a total nightmare.

They were fabulous. I gave them a complicated pamphlet to work from and they built a gorgeous countertop that was priced well. No complaints at all.

Excellent service. Superior installation. These guys made seams disappear. The price was better than 5 other places I had bid the job. Use this company if you want an exemplary job at a very good price.
