Services we offer
Full Service Tree Care & Removal. Crane Service. Deadwood Removal, Pruning, Trimming & Thinning. 24 Hour Emergency Service
During the process of obtaining estimates for the tree work, we decided to join Angie's List. We were particularly impressed with the Adirondack website and it's ratings on the list. The estimator was prompt and professional. The original estimate was $1300, however with the AL discount of 5% and the senior discount of 5%, we were able to save $130. The removal crew arrived promptly in the scheduled time frame with all the necessary vehicles and equipment to perform the service. They were careful not to damage any of the adjacent shrubbery during the cherry tree removal. The men were courteous and professional in performing their duties. The entire process just took a little over 2 hours. I would definitely recommend Adirondack Tree Experts for additional tree work.
Description of Work: They removed a large cherry tree, approximately 70 feet tall from an area adjacent to our neighbor's property line.

I initially emailed the company over the weekend and was promptly contacted on Monday morning to set up an appointment for an estimate. The estimate took place the following Thursday with an on the spot evaluation including the cost to do the job. After I said I would like them to do the work, I got a call the same afternoon to schedule the work for the following Tuesday. They arrived early and completed the job within an hour including complete cleanup of the work site.

They had given me a time slot between 9 and 11 and arrived at 9:30. They worked for 2.5 hours. Had I not been there, they might have left earlier but I insisted that they trim my trees as much as possible. They brought their own bags and cleared all debris.
Description of Work: They removed a large limb from a neighbor's tree that had fallen on one of our trees. They trimmed two of our trees. They trimmed back another neighbor's trees back to our property line.

A neighbor's enormous tree fell into the yard of our house during the big storm in June, and it damaged a large holly tree in our front yard. The tree was badly denuded and it looked (and still looks) awful, but Holly's are resilient, so I just wanted to get it trimmed up a bit to make it look less ridiculous. I called Adirondack based on a referral from the neighbor whose tree fell into our yard, but also because we needed some other minor work done, and I wanted an assessment of the trees on the property. The estimator, who was very friendly and arrived right on time, didn't think any work on the holly was necessary, and he said that I could remove a dead juniper tree myself. It felt like I was pushing him to take our money. He did suggest that we trim a willow oak back so that branches were six feet away from the house. To handle the three trees, he gave an estimate of $450, which I think is a good but not a great price. I called the same day to schedule the work, and it was scheduled for a week later. I was not present for the work. My neighbor, who has several big dead limbs on one of her trees, approached the crew. She reported, "Crew captain was about as friendly as a rattle snake, odd since we all know my oaks need some work." So I can't give an A for professionalism. When I was able to inspect the work, I found that the holly looked better, although they left some small debris behind in the branches. Not such a big deal, but with a damaged tree, you want to get as much debris out as possible in order to allow light in to promote new growth. The willow oak looked good, but the estimate said "trim 6 feet away from house" and I'd say the closest any branch now comes to the house is about 10-12 feet. Rather than removing certain branches off the lower limbs, they removed a few lower limbs entirely. This is not such a big deal, except that it's our main shade tree and we'll get a lot less shade on the house and the deck for a couple years. Again, they left some smaller debris behind, including one branch that I found on an azalea. The juniper was removed with no problem. I would use this company again. In my experience their staff were friendly, punctual, and responsive. However, I would make sure to be on site for the work, both to clarify my expectations and to run interference with my neighbor.
Description of Work: Trimmed a damaged holly tree. Trimmed a large willow oak that was touching the roof of our house. Removed a small ornamental juniper tree. Remove waste.

They were easy to talk to on the phone, the estimate was done the day they said it would be, I called to schedule the appointment and had one within a week. They dedicated several trucks and several men to the job, it was done quickly and efficiently. My only question/issue was that there are a LOT of wood grindings left in my yard - I had expected that part of their job was to remove all of that but the site-manager of the job told me they don't do that, that I would need to call a Landscaper. It wasn't what I'd understood, but given that they done such a good job, and for considerably less than the next estimate - I figured I'd misunderstood.
Description of Work: I had a large tree in my backyard, half of it fell down in a storm, the other half needed to be taken down. It was a tall one - maybe 3 stories? Plus I had the stump ground down and a few other stumps in the yard ground down while they were here.

I called them at 10:00 in the evening after the tree fell. Someone came out to look at it and told me someone would be out the next morning. They called me at 7 the next morning and informed me they would be out as soon as the power company informed them the power lines weren't hot. They came out promptly and lifted the tree off my car with a crane. They didn't damage anything (my garden included). They then lifted the one off of my house and used a giant crane to remove that one. They were really careful about my gardens and didn't disturb any of my plants. They had the tree removed within 45 minutes. They covered up the roof where there was a hole from the tree with a tarp. And, they even brought me a cheeseburger because I was hungry and couldn't go anywhere because my car was damaged! They cleaned up all the debris when they were finished and hauled everything away. I would use them again for future work. The approximate cost listed was to remove one of the trees, the other tree was covered by the city.
Description of Work: There was a storm and two trees fell down; one on my house and one on my car! They came out and removed both of them. They didn't grind out the stumps at that time because they're so busy but are going to come back out in a month to do that work.

I have used Adirondack before for trimming and tree removal. They will provide an estimate either with you present or not. I have had estimates done both ways. In this case the dead trees were obvious so I had an estimate left while I was out. I called back and was able to schedule the removal quickly. They came out the very next week. A small scheduling change required them to arrive later than expected (serious thunderstorms required and emergency job). I left the payment was pleased but not suprised to find the trees gone and the area fully cleaned up.

Adirondack's Dan Miller arrived on time for our appointment June 6th (early, actually), was a pro in all respects, spoke with obvious knowledge about the tree's dire situation, and explained in detail what had happened, how, and what the prognosis was. Gave me a price for removing the tree and grinding the stump. He also offered some advice on replacing the tree if we decide to do so in future (Adirondack doesn't offer that service, so Dan's advice was objective). I agreed to have the removal done (the charge was very reasonable), and Dan indicated someone from his office would be calling a bit later that afternoon to schedule the work. Sure enough, within two hours a very pleasant lady from Adirondack called, took the info, and said their team would be here between 2 and 4 on the 10th of June, weather permitting. The folks showed up as scheduled, did exactly what the contract called for, and left (I'd decided just to prepay the full charge on the phone previously so the workmen wouldn't have to fuss with collecting a balance). Except for the mulched circular area around the tree site, one wouldn't know there'd been a pine tree there for decades. Cleanup was amazing.
Description of Work: Company representative confirmed a prior diagnosis of an old and sickly pine tree in the corner of our front yard, offering no hope the tree could be saved. We contracted to have the tree taken down, chipped and removed, and the stump ground out.

We were scheduled for an estimate within two days, and they came the following week to do the work. They came and went while I was at work. I was very pleased with how well they cleaned up. Other than the stump, there's no evidence there was ever a tree there. The folks I spoke with on the phone were very helpful and pleasant, and my calls were returned promptly.
Description of Work: Took down a large dead spruce tree and hauled away wood and debris.
