Owner took out battery and held down power button while laptop was plugged in. He explained that sometimes a circuit breaker inside needs to reset. It worked and he charged me nothing. That's the way to do business!! I will definitely return with any other computer issues!

I dropped off the computer and explained the issue and the next day they called me to tell me it had been repaired. It had to be reset internally. They also repaired a cracked disk drive with an extra part from an old computer they had in the shop and didn't charge me for the part. Had it been new there would have been a charge. They are friendly, polite and very helpful. Will be going back.

When I called to describe the problem they said it could be one of two issues.  The cable which would cost $100.00or the screen would have to be replaced which would cost$250.00.  Fortunately it was the cable.

I have a 3 1/2 year old Dell desktop that suddenly went dark on me.   I suspected a bad power supply, but wasn't completely sure.   Because I wasn't sure and didn't want to throw a lot of money at it, I ordered a used power supply from a Dell replacement parts outfit on the web for about half the cost of a new one.  It was identical to the one that came with the unit.   When it came in and I installed it, nothing changed.  I had the exact same problem as before...when pressing the power button on the PC, the fans spun for a second, and then nothing.   I had no idea what I was dealing with at that point, and decided it was time to turn it over to an expert.
After checking Angie's List for a computer repair place, I called Computer Renaissance, and they told me I could drop it off anytime.  Over the phone, they explained there would be a $50 diagnosis/analysis fee.   I took it right up late in the day that day and took with me replacement power supply I had gotten.    They said they'd call me with the verdict the next day.   Early the next day, I got a call, and they told me the problem was indeed the power supply.  They also had installed the replacement power supply and got the same results I had, but a new power supply solved the problem.    The cost of installing the new power supply would be $60 which was about the cost of a new power supply I had seen on the web.   I told them to go ahead.     I got a call within a couple of hours that it was ready, and went and picked it up.   They carried it out to the car for me.
I was very pleased with their professionalism and knowledge, and will definitely use them again.   I was also pleased that they either had the power supply on hand or acquired it quickly so that I had the computer back and running within about 24 hours of my first call to them.

They were able to quickly install some new memory in my laptop.  This was a non-trival install due to all of the components that had to be taken apart to reach the memory slots.  I'm pleased with the service and will use them again.

I replaced many components in my computer to find out why it was freezing up.  I was running out of options, so I took it to Computer Renaissance for a diagnostic.  They took a look and let me know the motherboard was bad.  They were not able to fix it but offered to sell me one of their computers, and they would transfer the file for me.  I can't afford that, so I bought a replacement motherboard off of ebay and replaced my motherboard, and wouldn't you know my computer works fine again.
So to sum it up, they provided fast, accurate, affordable diagnostics for me.  I would use them again (but hope to never have to).

First of all I found Computer Renaissance by using Angie's List..  Two reviewers gave Tim an "A" and now I will be the 3rd!    Computer Renaissance is second to none!!  For both service and price you will not find a better computer repair store anywhere.  Tim is very professional and courteous.  My HDD was dying so I purchased a new  Western Digital HDD on Amazon.  My PC has PATA connections only and not many stores stock HDDs with PATA anymore.  I also purchased a new PATA LG DVD Burner on Amazon.  I took both drives over to Tim on Saturday June 2, 2012 at 2:00 PM. and asked Tim to install them.  I had already backed up my data on an external HD so there was no need to copy from disk A to Disk B.  I also asked Tim to clean my PC and also to replace the CMOS battery.  I had not previously purchased the battery.  Tim supplied the CMOS battery.  Tim stated my PC would be ready on Monday June 4, 2012.  Tim called me that same day (Saturday) at 4:30 and told me my PC was ready!!  I had not expected such prompt service!!  Everything came to just $50.00!!  I have to say Tim did a much better cleaning job than Best Buy.  After Best Buy cleaned my PC I could still see a lot of dust on the fan.  After Tim cleaned - no  dust.  Also I have been using my PC and my new burner and there are no problems!   I give Tim and Computer Renaissance an A++ !  I will always go back to Tim for all my computer repairs.  Tim also sells new and refurbished PCs!

Upon arriving to store, I told Tim what was happening with computer blue screening and continiuos error messages.  He told me he waould check it out and let me know what the issue was.  He called me that next morning and gave me options of how to repair. With laptop being only 15 months, decided to replace hard drive.  Glad I had an external hard drive so no data was lost.

I would highly recommend Tim and Computer Renaissance in BelAir.

It went very well; he said he was not sure if he could replace it. He put a lot of effort into it. He found one off of Ebay.

The work was done quickly and efficiently at a reasonable price. I was advised against some repairs as they were too costly and were not necessary for the overall use of the computer. Tim was a great salesman and sold me the computer needed for my daughter. It was a wonderful experience and I will continue to use them for all my computer needs. I drove a good distance and am happy to do so. I can't say enough nice things about Tim and Chris.

They fixed all of the problems with the computer and we needed to buy a new keyboard. I like how they received one day and they had it back to us the next day.
