Excellent. Alisa does a great job. The dog loves her, she spends the whole time training, and the method she uses is very positive and effective. My dog lays in his bed and a whole bunch of other stuff as well now?

My dog Gromit has always been timid and uncomfortable around other people and dogs. You Silly Dog has been incredibly helpful in bringing him out of his shell. All of the positive reinforcement from class and the opportunities to interact with other people and dogs have given him the confidence to relax and explore his world more. He is definitely a happier dog thanks to You Silly Dog, and that makes me a happy human!

I can't say enough good things about Alisa and You Silly Dog. Her private training sessions were relaxed and enjoyable and tailored to our specific needs. She has tons of great ideas and suggestions. Her interaction with both dogs and their humans is supportive, encouraging, and non-judgmental. Since our sessions have ended I have contacted her several times to trouble-shoot and ask questions and she has responded promptly and provided great information and resources. I plan to stay in touch with her and hopefully take one of the group classes soon.

Awesome!!! She IS the dog whisperer! The pups responded to her immediately, and loved her. It was a joy to watch the improvement and use the skills she taught us to the amazement of friends.

MAGGIE LEARNED ALOT. SHE REMEMBERS THE ONES WE STAYED ON TOP OF BUT IT WAS TOO OVERWHELMING TO FIT THEM ALL IN. SO WE PICKED AND CHOSE. ALISA IS GREAT AND BECAUSE OF HER TEACHING SKILLS, MAGGIE HAS HER OWN KING-SIZED BED AND IS A GOOD SHARER WITH HER PARENTS. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Alisa is very patient and knowledgeable about dog training. During our one-on-one session, she had our puppy sitting and staying within the hour. In the group class we focus on the two different skills that we then practice for the week. There is always playtime, either at the beginning or the end of class. The doggie socials are great because you know all the animals there have their shots and Alisa is always working with the dogs to make them more socialable.

Our dog has taken obedience classes and worked with training consultants, but she continued to pull on the leash and lunge at people and other dogs. We asked Alisa to help. After an initial consultation, during which she met and observed the dog our interactions with her, we scheduled four sessions of practice. We began by teaching with a clicker and treats, getting the dog to associate the clicker with positive results. We took walks in different locations, encountered people, traffic, and other dogs; Alisa would demonstrate how to desensitize the dog under varying circumstances. Between sessions, I sent her questions and concerns, and she responded with suggestions and creative solutions to any new problem we were having. At the end of the scheduled sessions, we were far better able to work with our dog and to encourage the behaviors we wanted.

Alisa uses only positive reinforcement to train dogs. She is very kind and gentle, but firm with Jack. She taught us basic obedience training, which Jack learned very quickly. She trains with food, rewards and the clicker. She has equipped me to continue working with him, improving his responses to commands. Most importantly, she is doing a very good job in deconditioning Jack to other dogs. By getting him to focus on me (and the food treats and clicks I supply), Jack is learning to be less stressed and less reactive when we encounter other dogs. Alisa even arranged for a friend to bring his dog Simon to a park so that Jack and I could work with him. At the first sight of Simon, Jack did his usual growling, barking and lunging towards him. By the end of the hour, Jack and Simon were seated side by side and Jack was totally calm. Alisa wants to continue working with Jack because she is as thrilled with his progress as I am. I highly recommend Alisa as a trainer.

We had a great overall experience. Alisa is very friendly and professional. You can tell she absolutely loves dogs. I love the positive nature of the clicker training. I hadn't been familiar with it before this class and I see how well it works. It makes sense that the dog would respond to positive methods as opposed to being scolded for doing something wrong. Our dog is reactive towards other dogs (she is a rescue and has had some bad experiences) and Alisa helped us to understand why she may react this way or that way and how we can redirect her attention. I would recommend You Silly Dog to any dog owner who wants to work on a bad habit their dog has or simply teach it basic skills and manners.
