We tend to do it more in the winter than in the middle of the summer.  They are very friendly. Occasionally the equipment doesn't function completely properly and it is down so we can't use it but that's only occasional. The pricing, well, if I were taking advantage of my membership, it would be excellent. The problem is we only go in frequently so it is a little expensive for the amount of times that we go there but I would say if somebody is really interested in regular attendance it is excellent.

My husband was looking for a gym and I am not sure if he is happy at the Y because it is a little far around here. There are several around here but it is hard for him since he works at odd hours. He wanted something that he can go later at night. Although, they have worked very regular hours but he needed somebody with more odd hours that might stay open later at night. However, the facilities are very nice and clean. We usually can get on the machine if you want to get on. The people are very friendly.

It's good and I like it there. The availability of equipments depends on the time of day I go. I've only taken one class there; I usually do things on my own.

I love the Y! Plenty of parking, large locker room, and I've never had to wait for a treadmill even during peak hours. Reasonable monthly membership fee ($51). I haven't done any of the fitness classes or used the pool yet. I do wish the classes were on a drop-in basis, rather than having to commit to a full session. But that is a small thing.
I love the diversity of members and the great community feel. As one example, when I was leaving the Y late one night last month (~ 9pm), the security guard walked me to my car - without me asking, without saying anything, but it spoke volumes! I really appreciated the gesture.

The 33rd Street YMCA is a nice facility with ample parking. The fitness suite has a wide selection of cardio machines (running, rowing, cross training, etc.), a decent free weight layout, and a corresponding Nautilus area. The staff I've been exposed to couldn't be nicer - and the people using the facility are equally as considerate. Bring your own towel - there are towels to wipe the machines, but not for cleaning yourself up/laying on the benches, etc. There is a climbing wall, gym court(s), and swimming pool available, though I've not used them. Likewise, there are free fitness courses (schedule at the front desk) for members to take advantage of. For a relatively low monthly fee, joining the YMCA gives me access to any YMCA Family Center (and I imagine other services) in MD. It isn't a "professional fitness center," but it is a quality set up that offers great hours and a clean, uncrowded setting to workout.

They have a fitness center, and a wide range of machines. You can pay an additional fee for training on the machines. They have convenient hours, and the location is good. Sometimes the machines are broken, but overall it's clean, and friendly. I will continue my membership at this Y.

In order to become a member you pay a onetime fee and it's up to $100.00, but they waive it at the beginning of the year. They waived the annual fee in January. In February it is down to about $7.00 and if you didn't do it that day and you went to the next day it is $8.00 and the next day it is $9.00. That is a big difference from a 100. You pay a one shot fee and then you pay a monthly fee depending on if you are family or you are single. You pay per household, but it's pretty cheap. It's about 40 bucks a month. It's for a huge enormous pool, and all sorts of aerobics and all sorts of weight machines, the climbing wall, track, gym, and free classes. It's open at 6 in the morning and closes at 10 at night almost 7 days a week. It's great value. I am having a little trouble right now trying to get classes for the children.

It was initially very difficult to contact the proper person to make the arrangements. We almost gave up trying but eventually contacted the proper person, the Aquatics Director. Once we managed to contact the right person, the rental was smooth and went off without a hitch. When we got there, the desk folks were totally professional and knew exactly what to do. They let us in 15 minutes early so we could get dressed and get in the pool exactly at 6:30 p.m. Also, while we paid for 1 hour and just the pool, we also had access to the sauna, and our total stay was scheduled at 1.5 hours. The lifeguard was also good, gracious, and professional. Everyone, especially the birthday girl, had lots of fun.

Staff is friendly and client le very diverse. It's also the first comprehensive gym in the community and its positive effects have been noted since its opening.
