The Davey Tree Expert Company

Davey Tree's communication is a new level of terrible. I organized an initial consultation which included discussion of tree trimming, fertilization and an insect infestation. In the consultation, I was told that I would be shown which branches and limbs would be cut prior to it occurring by use of a laser pointer. The crew arrived and started cutting without talking to me at all. When I asked them about the laser pointer, they denied knowing that anyone in the company used one. They also did not let me know that the cars in front of the house would need to be moved in order to do the work so I could alert my neighbors in advance. After an apology from Davey for all of this miscommunication, I gave them a second chance. I called to ask them to fertilize the tree that we had discussed during our consultation. I scheduled the call for this morning and then got emails saying it was another consultation and the fertilization would be done at another time. The woman who answers their phone needs to be educated in listening to what the customer needs and then make it happen.

Great. I had them trim the dead branches off my two trees and fertilize the roots. Everyone was courteous and knowledgeable. They arrived on time and did a great job. They chopped up the cut branches and put the mulch right where I wanted it.

From the beginning, Todd Armstrong’s communication was prompt, courteous, and professional. He understood our goals and provided thoughtful suggestions. The team he sent showed up as promised, worked diligently, and cleaned up all debris. Most importantly, when there was an error in the placement of one of the trees (I wasn’t home at the time to clarify), it was immediately rectified. That sort of responsive and non-defensive problem solving is priceless. I will definitely take use Davey for future work!

I took bids from four companies, and Davey was by far the lowest price for trimming two trees in our yard. The representative was very prompt in doing an estimate, and the work was done exactly as I had asked and in a very timely manner. I would definitely recommend.

They did a good job.  They're very expensive, but they did a good job.  They're top notch, but they're just expensive.  I don't even know if I got other estimates; I don't remember.  But they're a really big company and they've been around a long time. 

I will definitely hire company again in the future.

Matt was able to come out and give us an immediate estimate within 48 hours of when we telephoned. He was very professional and explained what would be done. We scheduled the work for the next week. The crew showed up on time and removed the trees without any damage to house, driveway, fence, and surrounding trees. This was a challenge as we live in the woods with many huge trees towering over our home. The 3 workers and their supervisor, Matt, were extremely courteous and profession from start to finish. I'm sure we will use their services again in the future.

They were punctual. The price was fair and they did a good job. They were good all around.

Very well. Aaron, the salesman, was very professional and provided a detailed, written proposal. Services were scheduled in a timely manner. The workmen were polite and thorough in both their execution of the contractual details and in their clean-up of debris.

They were great, expensive, but great. We had a big ice storm. I've got maybe 50 trees on my property. The ice kind of formed so heavy that if you open the door in the morning you could just hear trees breaking. So they had to come out and clean up my property so I could walk around on the grass. They were really good, but they are expensive. They actually take care of my trees too. They spray my trees, it starts in the spring and ends in the fall. There are four treatments that they do and I've had that for maybe about seven years. They are pretty reliable. For the tree treatment of four months, it's $175 a month. As far as the tree services, they're arborists and so they come out and they spray the trees for anything that they may have. I have not had any bad worms for years. The arborist comes out four times from spring to fall, treats the trees for spring growth and for any diseases that they may see on the second treatment. Then they start doing the trees for fall with a tree soap that they put on and then they put on finally the ones to keep all of the bugs out of the trees for the wintertime.

Davey was very good. I think they pretty much had very good prices. I don't think that I had any problems with anything. They did everything that they were supposed to do. I don't remember having any problem. I will absolutely use them again. They do good work and they're inexpensive. They're definitely worth the shot.

One time, it was wonderful. In another time, he just didn't come back. He handled our problem very well. He solved the problem. The cost was reasonable. They really explained things to us. They explained how to handle the tree and put mulch on it. They were outstanding. I would definitely hire them to do work.
