Singular Design Interiors

I needed interior design expertise for finishing a great room that has an open floor plan concept; kitchen, living room and dining area. I found Mary Yeager on this site after reviewing the excellent feedback posted from other members. Mary was prompt, professional and provided me with a homeowner's toolkit for recording information about our consultation and future plans. After three years of not knowing/understanding how to decorate this floor plan, I felt enthusiastic and delighted with Mary's design expertise as she guided me through the process. I'm just getting started, and look forward to seeing how the project will develop.

Mary was absolutely fantastic!  I have always been very color shy and she was able to suggest gentle changes as well as a few bold ones.  She provided several choices of color schemes for each room and was attentive to our likes and dislikes.  Mary never forced anything that we weren't comfortable in choosing.  She was also available for follow up questions a few weeks after her consultation which we appreciated very much.  We are about a third of the way painting our 1963 rancher and love all the new colors especially the bold ones!  Mary Yeager at Singular Designs has helped us give our home a much needed update and we highly recommend her services.

She was here for about an hour for the consultation and advice.  The service was excellent. I have contacted her before and I'm happy with the advice she gives.

We loved the services she offered us.  She is the one who advised us to paint all the crown moldings and the all the wood work in our house.  She was excellent.  She made just one visit we paid her by the hour.  I think it was $60 per hour.  She was punctual, came on time, she never seemed that she was in a hurry, and she took interest in our house as if it was her own and she dealt with us if we are her only client.  She was like a family member to us.  She was very polite and she could have charged us more for providing this kind of service she did.  We find her fee very nominal.  She was very patient with us through out.  Though we did not send her any after pictures we were not pressured to do it either.  We liked everything about her.

 Mary was patient and meticulous as we walked through 12 rooms and areas of the house giving us her initial thoughts and ways to improve the layout and functionality of the space we have.  We picked out new paint colors; talked about window decorations/shades; removing unnecessary furniture, and moving the furniture we have into different rooms.  We also talked about the various paintings we have and how they could be better situated.  

We received paint samples and we are in the process of finalizing our choices.  I have not used an interior designer in the past and was not sure what to expect.  Mary has exceeded my expectations, I am excited by the prospects of the project and look forward to continuing to work with Mary. 

Mary was great.  found her on angie's list. called her, left a message, within a couple of hours she called me back.   while she had a lot more appointments available the following week, she squeezed me in same week.  A big thank you from me.

we reviewed my thoughts on color, showed her the rooms, shared with her a few colors i liked.  she made great recommendations, helped me understand why she recommended the colors. she took into account things i'd never know without a professional's advice.  she considered the furniture, the lighting, the woodwork. 
I've never used a professional decorator- wow, what a difference and well worth the investment.  I am so excited about the choices and getting the work done.  Prior i was very anxious about my color decisions. I greatly appreciate her approach, her helping me undestand why she was making the recommendations she made.
Dpn't hesitate! If you are not a pro at picking color, and want something besides white.  easily saved $$ and time by using a professional for just a couple of hours.

I was remodeling an in-home recording studio in which I needed some
color consultation advice. Mary was great to work with. After I provided
a rough idea of my room's inspiration, Mary was able to effortlessly
provide valuable direction to me. Her knowledge of color nuances added
depth and interest to my space.
We then proceeded to a family
room that I was contemplating redecorating in the near future. Mary came
up with an initial idea that I was not extremely excited about. I asked
her for an alternative idea, she paused, and then quickly laid out an
alternate idea. Although Iher initial idea was her favorite, Mary
enthusiastically dove into an alternate concept that I do  plan to
implement.
It was a please doing business with her, and would recommend Singular Design Interiors to anyone without hesitation.

Mary was wonderful!  She came into out house and walked us through the
process of picking out paint colors and planning for window treatments. 
She was very helpful getting color swatches and making sure we were
happy with the colors we chose.  She took what was a very overwhelming
process for me and helped me focus and what needed to be done.  She
listened to our desires and made sure she took our budget and taste into
consideration when helping us with the design of our house.  I will
continue to go to her in the future for my decorating needs

It went great!!!.....she helped us pick out flooring, paint colors and furniture...Mary listens carefully and made sure that we created a space that we would enjoy for years to come...she is readily accessible and met us at the lighting and furniture stores....from start to finish, Mary is the best!!....HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS!....can't wait to get her help with the rest of our
home...even my dog loves her!!!

I wanted to redecorate a bedroom and get window treatments for the living room and dining room. I had been putting it off for several years because I couldn't figure out what I wanted. I contacted Mary at Singular designs based on the reviews on Angie's List. She visited my home twice. First to see the areas I wanted to change and then as a follow up. She suggested paint colors and coordinating window treatments that I never would have though of. All 3 of the areas look great. Her prices are very reasonable and I have could have wasted a lot of money trying to redecorate without her help.

Mary was very professional, easy to work with, and full of ideas.  Things we liked about her:
1. She accomplished a lot in a short amount of time.  Since she charges by the hour, this means we were getting a lot of design bang for our buck.  She gaves us ideas on molding, lighting, furniture pieces, furniture styles, helped us narrow our color choices down to a few.  She gave us some shopping assignments to work on, and ordered us some larger paint chip samples to try out on the wall.
2. She allowed us to proceed at our own pace.  If we wanted things to move quickly, or were planning on drawing the process out for a while, she was willing to step in and help on our timelines.
3. She was very good an accommodating our tastes and opinions.  It felt more like she was helping us figure out our design, rather than creating someone else's design.
4. She makes it easy to employ her for as much or as little of the project as we like.  She simply charges for her time, so we can choose how much of the project we want to employ her for.
The bedroom project is just getting started, but we've felt very comfortable and satisfied with her so far.

Amazing.  Mary went through each room with us and gave us simple suggestions to make our home look its best for purposes of selling it.  She gave advice on furniture rearranging, simple DIY projects, and other cost conscious improvements (along with contractor recommendations based on her personal experience).  We employed all of her suggestions.  Once we listed our house for sale, we were under contract in 7 days!

Beautiful color design! Mary did a wonderful job helping me and my husband pick out wall colors for our new house that would not only match our personalities, but also flow beautifully from room, to transition, to room. We are so happy with how the colors are turning out and we can't wait to see how it is all going to look when it is done. She also helped us to find inexpensive ways to tastefully decorate large, vaulted walls using crown moulding and prints (instead of huge, expensive paintings with even more expensive custom frames). No more huge blank spaces! She also helped us to color and decorate our new baby's room to make sense with the dark furniture we have. It is gorgeous. We are definitely going to work with Mary again. Don't waste time and money picking out wall colors on your own... Only to be disappointed in the results. It is WELL worth it to call on a professional to guide you and (in the least) help you create a beautiful flow for your space. Best investment yet!!

From initial communication to continuing advice, Mary has been fantastic. She responded to my initial inquiry quickly and was punctual for her appointment. Mary began our meeting by asking how I wanted the basement to function, and we went from there. She listened to all of the ideas that I had, added her own, and was able to utilize items that I already had for the basement. When bouncing ideas off of her, she was never condescending or negative-just enthusiastic and always professional. She also had recommendations as to where to shop for items for the basement as well as services, such as reupholstry. Since our meeting I have been shopping for items, and can send her pictures of things that I find to see what she thinks. Overall, it was a pleasure working with Mary-this is my first experience with an interior designer, and she made it a pleasant one.

It went well.  Mary was on time and had a wonderful personality.  She was not over bearing or intrusive.  Just very easy to work with.  She stayed about 1hr and 15 minutes and charged me for time and gas.  Her price was fair and her advice was great.  Rock solid.  We went through several topics in our together including furniture and a rug for the family, kitchen table and bar stool selections and window blinds.  I was worn out by the time she left.
I will consult with her again.  Her prices are very fair.

It went well. She is professional and came up with interesting ideas. In
the end I don't believe I'll use her ideas as while she worked hard to
please me I just wasn't feeling it. But she's passionate about her work.

Having recently purchased a new construction home, I contacted Mary to help give guidance on paint colors and a few odd and end decisions. Being overwhelmed by having a blank slate and too many choices, Mary listed to what my husband and I wanted (sometimes not agreeing). She was able to narrow down options and give her opinion in a very efficient and helpful way. What would have likely been weekends and weekends of staring at paint swatches became a much more pleasant and quick process. And now our home has beautiful colors and is starting to take shape.
Mary was right on time for our appointment, and was able to accomodate our hectic work schedules. Even though our focus was on selecting paint colors, Mary went out of her way to send us suggestions on artwork that she saw that might work with the paint. It was very much appreciated and actually went right out and bought one of them. We certainly plan to call Mary again when we are ready for our next step in design.

Mary came to the residence that I share with my mother and from the very start she was able to come up with ideas that blended our different styles that would make our house feel like home. Although we are still in the process of implimenting many of the ideas that Mary suggested, we already have intentions of utilizing her services to decorate the rest of our home. This review really doesn't give Mary the credit she's do but I will promise to give an update to this review.

Mary is very easy to work with and after a couple of visits she had picked up on our styles and was able to steer us towards items that both my husband and I liked (this was a challenge for us at first!). She is very creative and helped us think outside of the box with furniture and color selections; for instance we tend to lean towards neutrals and she helped us add some "hits" of color and pattern that liven up the rooms. Our visits are fun and efficient and at times she arrives with fabric swatches, decorations, wallpaper, and paint ideas in hand. She is also very responsive over email and makes suggestions that are budget friendly. Definitely recommend her services!

Mary was wonderful to work with. We redid our entire first floor. Mary save us tons of money. My husband wanted to put up a wall to divide our dining room from our family room. Mary suggested no wall paint the fireplace (which my husband wanted to take out too) a different colar and put up a pole. It look great Mary is great with colars. My sister used Mary to bring life back to her family room.

I look forward to my adventure in improving my home with more confidence.
