The appointment was for 9ish am on moving day. The locksmith was the least of my worries. He was outside waiting for me in the morning (my phone was acting up and I didn't get his voicemail for another 15 minutes). Was done in about an hour.

Scheduling the appointment went smoothly and Murray arrived during the promised window of time. He was friendly and professional, and gave us advice when we asked for it, which was appreciated. Three locks were rekeyed very quickly, but since he didn't have the lock needed in his truck, we had to reschedule a return visit to have the fourth replaced. We set up a time for the return visit, but had to call to change it, which was the only slight problem we encountered, which was some difficulty in communication between the main office and Murray. However, we did it scheduled, Murray came back right on time, and Robert's didn't charge us the service fee for the return visit. Overall we were very happy with the service and quality of work, and would definitely call on them again if need be.

Mike did a great job. Arrived early. Explained his work as he went. Loaned us a flashlight to inspect the basement. Cleaned up quickly. Presented the bill in a very professional manner. Left us feeling happy and very pleased we had contacted this firm to handle our situation.

When I could not find the contact information for the locksmith we had out last January when our key got stuck in our front screen door, I did a search on Angie's List. I called a couple other locksmiths listed, but they all said the same thing-it would cost us at least $95.00 for them to show up, not including any actual parts needed and labor. Robert's sent Murray out first thing Monday morning. It was obvious we should have used them to begin with, as his knowledge of the particular type of lock we have is quite extensive. Where the previous locksmith had caused some damage as they had great difficulty taking out the lock, Murray was able to work around it. He said he had the part at the office, but as he was leaving for vacation that afternoon, he would not be able to return until a week from the next Monday at 8am. He refused to charge us until the job was complete. He did return at the agreed date and time and did the installation in less than 30 minutes. The price we paid was far less than the other locksmiths who I called had quoted and, in addition, he saved us almost $170.00, as he was able to replace a small part in the mechanism, negating the need to replace the whole thing. The previous person, who came in January, claimed complete replacement was the only solution. We will absolutely hire this company again for any of our lock/key needs.

On initial visit, only the re-keying was performed, despite my initial request (while setting up the appt over the phone) which included a deadbolt on rear door. When I notified of the omission, they were courteous and offered to come back (the following week) to install deadbolt and bill it as a continuation of initial visit. Service person (Murray) explained why the final cost ($200) was greater than estimate ($150): Our particular locks are a higher grade. He also 'flipped' a lock that had been installed upside down gratis.

I was told at the time that the appointment was made that they would arrive between 9AM and 12 noon. When I called them the morning of the appointment to confirm, they stated that they could not arrive until approximately 2PM. The installation was done in a timely fashion. The locksmith was friendly and professional. He really seemed to know what he was doing. He made great suggestions on appropriate locks for each door. He also gave me a couple of free extra keys.

The lock was stuck on my door and now it works great. I called Robert's Key Service because I appreciate a company that goes above and beyond which I felt this company did after reading about the post on Angie's list where they gave someone instructions over the phone so they would not be locked in their house. I called on Tuesday. They asked if it was an emergency and I said "no", because I had other doors I could use to exit. They told me they would call me on Thursday to come out and they did just that. Fixed the lock quickly.

ROBERT'S KEY SERVICE SCHEDULED THE WORK OVER THE TELEPHONE. THEY CHARGE $68.00 FOR A VISIT WHICH MAY LAST UP TO AN HOUR. AFTER THE FIRST HOUR THERE IS AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE. THE LOCKSMITH ARRIVED 5 MINUTES EARLIER THAN SCHEDULED, WHICH WAS GREAT. HE FIXED TWO OF THE THREE LOCKS, BUT WAS UNABLE TO FIX THE THIRD LOCK BECAUSE IT NEEDED A PART. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT HE SAID HE WOULD ORDER THE PART AND THEN LEARNED THAT THE HOMEOWNER HAS TO ORDER IT. HE NEGLECTED TO LET ME KNOW. I HAD TO CALL THEM TO FIND OUT THAT I HAVE TO ORDER IT AND IT TOOK TWO PHONE CALLS TO GET THAT INFORMATION. THE WORK WAS EXCELLENT AND SWIFT. HE WAS FINISHED IN ABOUT 30 MINUTES.
