Everything went well.  The work was done much quicklier than I had expected, especially the light installation work that was required for the basement.  The house is over 70 years old, so the team had to work with disintegrating and dry-rotted cloth insulation.  For this job, they worked all over the house - the three interior floors, the basement, the side porch, and the front door.  Now I have a beautifully lit home, inside and out.  I've been working for Pro Energy Electric for a number of years, but only for small replacement jobs.  Their consistent service made me comfortable to call them in for this larger job.  I'm very happy with that decision.

My newly installed garage sump pump was causing problems with the lighting fixtures in the house.  I learned later that equipment like sump pumps is supposed to run on its own circuit.  Mine was not, it was on the same circuit used for interior lighting.  So  when the pump ran, all sorts of flickering went on in the house.  In addition, it was causing connections to come loose in the junction box, resulting all sorts of electrical problems down the line.  Pro Energy installed a new circuit for the garage sump.   Everything works fine now.
In addition, my dusk-to-dawn flood light blew out. Since it had been replaced only a few years ago, it wasn't clear if the problem was with the bulb, the sensor or the light kit.  I purchased all the replacement parts to effect repairs. Unfortunately, the light is about 25' up the side of the house, so an extension ladder was needed.  Pro Energy made a few quick tests and determined that the problem was with the bulb, replaced it and now everything works great.  Good thing I kept my receipts for all those parts I didn't need.

I found the electrician on Angie's List. Even though there was no report on Angie's, I visited the electrician's web site. I saw that he was a licensed master and that he had listed a variety of services, including home remodeling. So using the contact function on his web site, I sent him an email. The electrician called me within the hour and scheduled a time to stop by to do an estimate. He showed up on time, sized up the job and gave me a price. I accepted it and we scheduled the work. One of the day of the work, the electrician arrived on time. He was able to attach the light fixture to the existing bracket, so he didn't have to drill into the masonry. He attached the fixture, made the connections and tested the photo sensor. At the end, the electrician packed the old fixture and screws in the box from the new fixture, handed me the unused parts and was done, all within one hour.
