The McComas Fuel team is highly professional and extremely responsive. Their fuel deliveries are timely with competitive pricing. They arranged to diagnose and service my furnace and fuel tank within hours of my call for help and got me up and running quickly. I could not recommend them enough.

They come right away when I call them. They come out every year to do maintenance on the furnace and keep it running very well. They're very responsive.

They promised to inform about the delivery a day before. Happened only once. On other deliveries, we were lucky to be home. On the last delivery, the truck tore the grass next to the driveway. After we called, first were promised to restore the damage, then we were ignored. Last delivery was in March. When I called for another delivery, the company closed our account without our consent.

It went very well. One person came out to do the work and it was completed within 3 hours. Excellent communication and the area was left clean. They are responsive and know what they are doing. They also delivered oil to me at a competitive price, and I am satisfied. I switched to them as my new supplier.

Arrived on time to give me an estimate. Answered all my questions. Evaluated my current gas use & the capacity of the gas meter to ensure that the current meter could supply the additional gas to operate the furnace.
Arrived again on time to install the new gas burner. Professional workmanship, clean install. Encountered some problems adapting the programmable thermostat to my 1941 furnace, but got it done. Left my old oil burner in the basement just in case oil prices drop drastically in the future.
This excellent service is exactly what I have come to expect from McComas, a family run business that I have used for fuel oil & air conditioning installation & service for many years, and at several locations. The people at McComas have always been courteous, professional & friendly, from office staff, to technicians & drivers. Over the years they have been very helpful with normal problems & not-so-normal ones like water & oil leaks. My furnace was serviced once a year through contract & seldom had any problems in between. But, of course this year a burner transformer went bad just before the old oil burner was to be replaced. The part was not available new, so the technician took it back to their shop & did a fix.
I hated leaving McComas, but with oil prices what they are, I felt I must convert to natural gas. When I called to say I would not be getting oil from them any longer & to thank them for their long-time service, I was very happy to find out that they installed natural gas burners. And their price was better than 2 other companies by a substantial amount.

I researched several heating oil companies in the Baltimore area before hiring McComas Fuel Company to provide me with my heating oil needs. After some negotiation, this company provided the best per gallon heating oil price at the time. After some more negotiation, this company also provided the best price for an annual oil boiler maintenance contract. McComas Fuel Company came every month and filled up my oil tank. Recently, this company also cleaned and inspected my oil boiler under the maintenance contract I had purchased. So regarding the actual service of providing heating oil and maintaining my oil boiler I can attest that this company does a good job. Unfortunately, McComas Fuel Company lacks a bit in the customer service department. When I telephone this company I always feel like the person taking the call is annoyed that I called and in a great hurry to get me off the phone. It would be nice if the person asking you to hold would say something along the lines of "would you please be so kind as to hold a moment while I look into this for you" as opposed to saying "you need to hold"...click. Also, if you say you will call back...then do it. I personally am employed in a job where I have to speak with customers almost daily and if I spoke the way the operators at this company spoke I would not be in business for long. So long story short...the company performs its core function very well but lacks sophistication in the manner it communicates with its customers. Also, it does not allow communication via email...I like email.

Overall the project went well. They installed the new water heater, took the old one away, and cleaned up after themselves.
