I was initially pleased with how punctual, responsive and well priced this company was. I left a review on 9/14/2014. However since then I have contacted them about a leak that I am having. They came out right away and caulked a window sill which they believed to be the problem. The problem continued during heavy rains. They came a second time and said that there was a siding issue on the home. I have before and after pictures of the roof. When they installed the new rubber roof, they removed the aluminium flashing between the lower roof and the rest of the structure. The water now leaks into my bathroom right at that joint. I made them aware of this and spoke to Ken, who informed me that "they do not do flashing.... I will need to call a siding company." I am utterly confused because flashing the joint on a roof is definitely a roofer job, especially since they removed the previous flashing which was there for a reason. I am pretty disappointed at this and have called other contractors since being told this and they have all said the same thing..... you need to call them back and tell them to finish the job, because it is their problem. I am left holding the bag here with a roof that is now leaking when it was not leaking prior to Horizon completing work for me.

Flat-roofed row house with leaks was assessed and repaired by Horizon. The first fix was a replacement skylight that we discovered did not completely resolve all the leak issues. This required a few follow up visits to determine problem areas. Additional fixes in other areas of the roof were required. All visits were prompt and all concerns so far have been addressed at no additional charge beyond the skylight replacement cost.

This is the third time that I have used Horizon Roofing and I could not be happier. Ken is extremely helpful and a pleasure to work with. The work was completed professionally, the pricing was quite reasonable, the installers were very pleasant and everything was cleaned up perfectly. Ken addressed any concerns promptly and the completed work is top notch. I will continue to use Horizon for any roofing needs and I recommend them with no reservations.

They did a great job, and I have nothing but good things to say. They came in to repair my roof from storm damage. They put stuff down ahead of time to keep me from getting major leaks, they were on time, and got the job done in a day or two. It was terrific.

Horizon Roofing patched a sink hole in the front, coated my deteriorating chimney. They put flashing beyond what the insurance inspector required. All in all they went above and beyond to help me and secure my house from future problems, without any more charges. I can't recommend them enough.
I contacted about a dozen roofing contractors. They were the only ones to arrive on time for the estimate, but also they were always here to do the job just when they said they would. They were incredibly efficient when they got here the job was done in 2-3 hours. They obviously knew what they were doing because they got rolls of material and cans and tools up 2 levels like they had a team of 10, although there was only 2 guys. I think they were done in 2-3 hours which I would have figured to take all day.

They got the work done in about a half a day and the price was really great. I had some issues with the gutters and they came right back out to make sure they corrected any issues. They are very responsive.

I had two other contractors come out and no one could fix it. When I met with him he said if he couldn't fix it he would use the money toward a new roof if that is what is needed. After doing work, and misdiagnosing the roof he informed me that I need to hire another contractor, but I still need to pay him. The problem has not been fixed and still has not been correctly diagnosed. The roof/ceiling is still leaking.

"First let me say that I understand when you have a roof leak it can be very stressful. Although I can sympathize, I find this report very disappointing and empty, because we do our best to truly help people whenever possible, as you can see by our 44 positive reviews, for which I am very grateful. Reviews are very helpful both positive and negative because it allows the company to see the areas they need to improve upon. We are proud of our effort to remain honorable both personally and professionally. We have received the Super Service Award 4 years in a row and just this morning we were notified of our achievement obtaining Honor Roll Status Again. I feel the need to respond and clarify so no one will be misled by these empty allegations. There are no details other than exactly what was stated in her agreement. Which was that this work can not be guaranteed and is being done at the customers request. She was kind and pleasant each time I came to help her. This only changed when after 4 months of waiting to be paid I turned he over to collection. First of all this work was completed on June 17, 2014 not August 20, 2014, and as the contract stated this work cannot be guaranteed and is being done at the customers request, which the customer agreed to. Although I did not give a guarantee I did give her 2 free service calls within 30 days of completed work. I explained that in her situation it would be a process of elimination, but I would do my best to find the problem. In a verbal agreement I did state that I would credit 1/2 of the cost of the repair toward the cost of a new roof and I will still honor that but I cannot give a credit unless the prior work has been paid for which in this case it has not. I have gone above and beyond to assist this customer including but not limited to 4 free return service calls, tarping off her wall to help find the problem. It became clear that there were other issues with the property when I returned for another service call and there was still a drip coming from the ceiling and it had not rained for more than 2 weeks. I even agreed to allow her to make small payments when she indicated that she needed time to pay her bill. To date I have waited almost 4 months to be paid for my services and and have not charged any late fees or interest which I have every right to. As this customer indicated in her review I was not the first company to try and help her resolve her roof problem and in no way did I indicate that she needed to hire another contractor but did make her aware that she had every right to another opinion."

Ken at horizon was very professional. I spent a lot of time researching to find a good quality contractor that was highly recommended on Angie's List. Too many fly-by-night contractors out there that are not licensed by the Maryland Home improvement commission. I received a bid that was almost $1200 lower, but the contractor was not licensed bonded or insured. They offered me a three-year leak warranty. Verizon roofs give you a 12 year warranty with stipulations that you must have them recoat the roof every five years. Which is fair since they have to warranty it. After doing my research I found out that the contractor that offered me the 1200 less had a history of not coming back for repair warranty work. If there's one thing I've learned is that cheaper is usually not better. Can you price of 3800 was there because he has a history of backing his product. Can got the work done within two days of giving me the estimate. And did not require a deposit to start the work. Recommend!!!

This company was wonderful to work with right from the beginning (initially contacted through Angie's list on 8/15/14, estimate performed on 9/03/14, and work completed on 9/10/14). There were a few hiccups in initial scheduling, but part of that was our fault (we weren't paying attention to the voicemail message providing us with a different phone number to call because they were having phone issues in the office). Every single person we dealt with was extremely friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable. They made us feel at ease about the work we were getting done.
Horizon's quality of work is excellent! I realize that only time will tell, but so far we've had a couple of very heavy rains since the work was performed an no leaking has occurred. The aluminum coating they put on the roof looks fantastic - and there are no paint splatters anywhere on the house from the coating. The guys did a marvelous job of cleaning up after themselves too - we couldn't even tell they were here. Most contractors I've dealt with, including other roofers, leave behind a giant mess to clean up - and worse, they leave nails behind for people to step on or drive over with their tires (why do contractors do that?)... anyway, you don't have to worry about any of that with Horizon.
We are relieved to have a roofing company that is so experienced with flat roofs in Baltimore City. Horizon Roofing, Inc. will be our permanent go-to company if/when we have any roofing issues in the future. It is so wonderfully refreshing to receive such top notch, quality service that you can trust!

Had a same day estimate and hired them the very next day. That was a Friday. By Monday I have a new roof when I hadn't even heard back from some of the contractors I contacted for bids. They were there at the crack of dawn. So far no issues with the work and I am confident there will be no problems, but figured I would leave this review now. I was shocked that they did not require any upfront deposit, I just had to sign the contract. It is now Wednesday and he told me the invoice is in the mail which makes me feel like a bad person that I haven't paid them yet. It feels so unnatural!
I would definitely hire again. They warrantied the roof for 12 years with an understanding I will recoat every 5 years. I checked their prices for the recoat and they are fair as well. The owner, Ken, was easy to talk to and even replaced the bulbs in my spotlight while they were on the roof for me ( I asked them if they could and they gladly did).

Horizon installed a new roof back in September of 2011. We recently noticed two small leaks and the roof is guaranteed for 15 years if coated every five years with an aluminum coat. Called, they came the next day and checked out the roof. Their conclusion was the leaks were coming from a small tiled section of the roof where some tiles were missing, not from the main roof which they installed.
They fixed the leaks - at no charge - and advised me that the aluminum covering was fine and would not need a recoat for at least a couple of years.
These guys do a great job, and stand by both the letter and the spirit of their guarantee.

Awesome. I have spent more than a year trying to find a roofer that would just repair my roof and not try to push me into a whole new roof at exorbitant cost. I called Ken on a Friday and the next Friday he was calling me to tell me the work was done.
He showed up for the estimate when he said he would, he did the work when he said he would and gave me his honest opinion on the health of my roof - which wasn't to get a new roof but to wait another ten years. An honest, timely roofer!

I have no complaints about the installation . The crew was nice and they worked quickly. I'm not 100% confident that our days of leaks are over. We had some leaking this spring. The roof is still under warranty so we called the company and they quickly responded. My only real disappointment was that no information was left for me on what they did to the roof to try to fix the leak. I finally called the company and spoke with an assistant who didn't really seem to know either. I'm waiting for a good, blowing rain to see if the roof holds up after this repair. My fingers are crossed. I gave an N/A on quality because I think the jury is still out. Like I said, though, they seem to be good, honest people.

It turned out well. I had 6 companies look at the roof and went with Horizon because of their knowledge of roofing systems. I actually used them again after this job, to repair a gutter.

Horizon completely replaced a flat roof on my town home in Baltimore City. From the 1st contact, I was confident that I had picked the right company. They were prompt, cordial and professional. The person I spoke with, I believe it was the owner, wanted to make sure I understood exactly what I needed. Although. initially I was not that interested in hearing the details, he politely and gently insisted on explaining what was needed and wanted to make sure I understood. Great customer service. Did not take a dime until the work was done.
