Forster plumbing called to address shower drain that was running slow (along with unrelated work that was completed satisfactorily). Plumber put caustic soda down, which helped partially and temporarily, and advised me to do the same if problem recurred, which I did when problem got worse within few weeks. I was told that this would not damage pipe. Pipe then developed leak, damaging ceiling below bathroom. Called plumber back to fix leak and the still clogged pipe. Plumber removed section of ceiling below bathroom and replaced leaking section. Cost of this work was $321. But plumber did not fix the still clogged pipe section, despite having access via the hole cut in the ceiling. I called back a third time, and plumber returned and put more caustic soda down and used plunger. This again partially and temporarily improved drainage, but was soon running very slowly again. For this I was sent bill for $147 (which is not going to get paid). I called again to address problem and was told "There's nothing more we can do. Good-bye." Fixing the hole in the ceiling and all the water damage (from the pipe corroded by the caustic soda) is going to cost me $800. And we still have a shower that won't drain. Clearly, the problem should have definitively been addressed when the ceiling was opened up. The shower drain pipe connects into other drain pipes- which are functioning well- within a few feet of the shower, so the problem must be within that short distance. I'm out over $1,100 and my shower still does not drain. It was audacious to bill for 3rd visit that consisted only of a repeat of the previously failed approach. And the unwillingness to properly perform work for which they had already been paid has earned Forster Plumbing a well-deserved F.
