Mr. Rama was very rarely on site. The workers he sent were polite and punctual, but were clearly not capable of completing the work they were asked to complete. In the end, there were issues of quality on every aspect of the remodel.
- Leveling of floors - once they "leveled' the floors, the bathroom floors were so crooked that the sink vanity was installed with the right side floating nearly 3 inches off of the ground.
- Installing a Bannister on steps - although the crew knew this was a task to be completed, when they rebuilt the floor joists and installed the hardwood flooring, they never put a joist where the railing would be. This resulted in a very wobbly railing that they wanted to leave as a final product. After much back and forth, the crew had to cut into the new hardwood floors to remedy the situation. This resulted in imperfections in the brand new floors.
- Tile work - The crew was to install glass subway tiles in the bathroom. Every single cut tile is chipped, uneven and unattractive. We were told that was "just the way glass tile worked".
-Site cleanliness - The crew decided to use our back yard as a dumping ground instead of procuring a dumpster. Over the 8 week period, so much debris was accumulated that all of the grass in our small yard was killed. We now have a mud pit.
Finally, and most importantly- just weeks after the "completion" of the work, our dining room ceiling opened up with a flood of bath water. When we had a plumber come to assess the situation and complete the repairs, we found out that the tub drain was never installed properly. It was installed at a slant, with no sealant on it. Mr. Rama agreed to reimburse us for the costs of this repairs, but nearly 3 months later we have not received the funds and he is no longer responding to our emails.
Shame on us for not doing better research before contracting with this company but please let this be a lesson learned: the quality, timeliness, professionalism and cost of this company is horrific. Do not use this company.
