It was a pleasure working with Custom Soneworks and Design. The original start date was pushed back because of weather but Tony called and informed me early. His crew came out on the following week and began the project. Any delays were due to weather related issues not his quality of workmanship. Work was scheduled for a Friday but still was finished within a week even with the weather delays included. He did give the option of 2 designs that I asked for, the other was a little less expensive which I did not purchase. The crew returned removed the forms from the concrete pour replaced the dirt around the side of the Pad and cleaned up the area and I did not know they had returned and finished.

Turned out better than expected. Tony took an ugly, forgotten part of our yard and made it beautiful and useful.

Stonework is beautiful. Grading was insufficient and work done to take water away from the house had to be redone because they were not familiar with the significant clay content in the soil. He agreed to do the drainage without a significant additional charge, so we did not pay much for that work originally, but since he agreed to do it I would have preferred that he do it right. I would have paid for it if he had explained the work that should be done.

Tony was great! He was able to do our job earlier than expected, and then his crew finished in less time than they had planned. The work is beautiful, and flawless. This was one of the easiest home improvement projects that we've ever had.

It went great! Initially we were somewhat skeptical, especially given the cost was more than we wanted to spend. However, one year later the backyard has become our favorite room in the house! It is so nice to not have to keep the blinds closed because you hate the way your yard looks. We have a small yard living in a townhome, but the pavers have really given us more space. I LOVE MY BACKYARD now and sit out there almost every day!

Anthony is very professional and personable. He took my amatuer drawing and created a more professional dawing of what I wanted. For our first meeting, he arrived on time and was very thorough with the details of how the work would be done, the materials used, etc. He provided me with catalogs that showed different styles and also different pavers including finish, color. I was allowed to keep the catalogs and even though I decided on the pavers and style and color I wanted, he told me to look through the catalogs just in case I wanted to change my mind on my choices - and I did! I decided to change the color of my trim after looking through the books several times and Anthony was very accomodating with the changes and updated the work order to reflect it. I was also hesitant about getting lighting as it was out of my budget but he also worked with me on that and assured me that I would be happier with the lighting and he was right! His team showed up on time every day and cleaned up each day before they left. they did an awesome job and it is evidenced by the many passerbys that have stopped on the side of the road just to take photos and inquire about my patio! I highly recomment this company and would use them again if I ever needed any addtional stonework.

They were efficient and punctual. They were quick to do the work accurately and within our specifications. They did a good quality work. He made a special trip to assure me that this is what I wanted. He was a little high and I should have done another estimate but he did a good fast work.

This job could not have gone more perfectly. Tony was extremely attentive and professional. Before picking our materials he consulted with us 3 times to make sure we were satisfied with all the selections. He then ordered the materials, got the permit and 2 weeks later started the job. He said it would take 2-3 days and he finished in 2 and half days. He quoted us the best price out of 4 contractors and did everything right the first time. He was on time every day and his crew worked very hard. The end result was exactly what we spoke about. He left the job site clean and was a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend Tony and his team.

Tony was great. We knew we wanted him to do our job as soon as we met him.He had great suggestions and guidance on our project. He was willing to rework plans to fit our budget. We are so happy with the work!

I contacted 3 companies to replace the wall. Tony's estimate was in the middle, but he outlined more options than the other companies, and offered a solution that was affordable and aesthetically pleasing. He was very professional, as was his crew. They arrived on time, cleaned up after their work each day, and even moved some plants for me that I didn't want to lose. I would definitely use Tony and his company again.

You will not disappointed if your path leads you to Tony at CSand D. When we joined Angie's List and began reading through all of the reviews and comments, we were really happy to see a few of the contractors that we had already looked into had reviews on file. The reviews were very hepful and we are glad we joined to read them. One thing that we were wary of were the most GLOWING reviews posted. We figured that the company must have written it themselves or given a huge discount in exchange for the comments. We have to admit that were TOTALLY wrong in thinking this, because we now are about to write one of those reviews about our experience with CUSTOM STONEWORKS and DESIGN. We were not paid, discounted, begged, or threatened to write this review. This Company is Terriffic. Tony is the owner and the guy you will be dealing with. Tony responded immediately to our request for an estimate. We asked him to come over to look at the space and he arrived promptly when he said he would. With no guarantee that we would give him the job, he spent over 45 mins with us. He explained what the process involved (Excavation, grading, compacting etc...) and how his team gets it all done quickly and safely. We had no idea what materials we wanted and had no experience with pavers. Tony showed us books of his work as well as catalogs for the choices we had. He answered all questions. We are very indecisive when a lot of money is at stake. We were nervous about making a choice we would regret. Tony totally understood this and provided just the right amount of encouragement and support. Remember, at this point, we hadnt even given him the job yet and he was already providing great customer service. Tony was the second contractor we met with and not the last. His price was a little higher than the other bid, but it was all-inclusive. No extra charges for short-load delivery, limited access (we have a narrow alley), or disposal fee (we had a lot of rocks to get rid of). The price he gave us was the amount we'd pay. He emailed us a sketch and bid later that night. Just like he promised he would. We still kept shopping. We met with 2-3 other contractors who all were not as good as CUSTOM STONEWORKS and DESIGN. They were not as personable, they were not as prompt in getting back to us. We finally decided to go with CUSTOM STONEWORKS and DESIGN, INC. We were working on a deadline because we were planning a holiday party and needed the work done within 4 weeks. Tony reshuffled a couple of his more-flexible jobs to accommodate our schedule. Amazing ! When the work began, we were actually out of town, but we had to have the job done so we put our faith in Tony and went on vacation. Tony even emailed us photos of the work in prgress while we were away which was GREAT. When we got home, we dropped our bags and headed straight to the backyard. We were greeted with a brand new beautiful patio. The entire space was transformed as Tony promised. Clean and new. Just like he said it would be. Now we are not so naive to think that nothing ever goes wrong on jobs. We have had experience with renovations where unexpected glitches or problems arise. The KEY to picking a contractor is getting the right answer to the question "When things go wrong, what are you going to do to make them right ?" Everything went PERFECT on our job, but we went into it with 100% CONFIDENCE that Tony would make things right. In short, he didnt have to make things right, because nothing went wrong. We were 100% happy to write the final check. No regrets. We not only can reccommend CUSTOM STONEWORKS and DESIGN, INC without reservations, but we do so with enthusiasm.

We had been wanting to do something about the unsightly retaining wall with its crumbling wood railroad ties since we moved here in 2005. We recently discovered we had a termite problem, and we were told that if we had any serious digging to do in the yard we should do it before the termite treatment. I called Custom Stoneworks, and Tony Lozupone, the owner, came out that same day to give us an estimate, and he said they could perform the work the following Monday and be done in 2-3 days. I did get one other estimate which was only slightly higher than Custom Stoneworks, but I felt since they did this type of work all the time and it was their specialty that the work would run more smoothly than the other company might be able to do. They were not able to start that Monday only because of the downpour of rain. They were at my house the next day promptly in the morning to start. They worked Tuesday and Wednesday until 6pm which allowed me to have my exterminator out as scheduled. The work crew were very courteous and professional and very willing to help in any way they could. They even took the time to level off some spots in the yard which were in need of the same and put down grass seed. They also carefully took care of the areas they had worked around since it was so muddy and messy. They cleaned everything up very carefully when they were done. In digging in the retaining wall area, they discovered a lot of junk that had to be hauled off and also a very pretty very large and heavy rock which they very nicely transplanted in my front flower bed at my request.

Tony, the owner, returned my call promptly and came to give me an estimate. Although his price was very reasonable his estimate wasn't the cheapest. I had a good feeling about Tony, though, so I went with my instinct and hired him on the spot. It was the best decision I could have made. Tony and his crew are true artists. They transformed my backyard-from-*expletive* into a stunning courtyard that I can't wait to show off. They arrived on time each day and worked diligently until the work was completed. The craftsmanship is absolutely superb. I now look out my window and see a work of art where there was once just a jungle of weeds.

Tony and his crew arrived more than two weeks ahead of the agreed upon date. They completed the work in less time than originally stated. They were very professional and cleaned up each day when they left. At the end of the project, my wife and I were amazed at the transformation of our backyard into not only a usable addition to the house, but one that was pleasant and enjoyable.

Everything went beautifully from start to finish. The owner, Tony Lozupone, is a true professional.

Very well. I found the company in the Yellow Pages, then checked their web site, then called. Anthony returned my call immediately, came to my house November 25 to discuss what I wanted and to give me estimate. He told me when he expected to do the work, called me a few days prior to tell me he he was still on schedule to be there on that date, and when the day came, he called me to let me know they were on their way. His stone and brick suppliers delivered the materials to my house on time. I was home both days and watched the work as it went on. I had already done some reading about laying brick loose-laid patios, so I knew each step of the process. Though I was anxious about whether or not I had chosen the best color and type of paver, and the best design for my small yard, I am pleased with the project as a whole, and I look forward to putting a table and chairs on the patio in the spring.
