He knew what it was right away and fixed it. He had to come back because he did not have the part so that wasn't so cool, but I did not know what to tell them when I first called. Then he came back, like, the next day and fixed it. If he only had to make one trip and he had those parts the first time that would have been nice. I did not comparison shop.

The initial ductwork took them about a month. There would be an average of 6-10 workers on sight each day. They showed up late, and left early, sometimes not putting in more than 4 hours a day. On any given day, half of the workers did little to nothing. On one occassion I came home from running an errand to find a group of workers drinking a six pack of beer on the steps while still on the job. Their craftsmanship was less than average: they left gaps in ductwork, any wall or roof penetrations that they made, I had to come after them to seal properly. Two of their roof penetrations leaked a lot of water after the first rain. The penetration through brick was sealed with plumbers putty or mortar that was so thinly mixed that it crumbled right out of the bricks. I've had to call them back on two occassions to fix problems with the furnace due to their bad installation job and on both occassions they've sent me a bill to the tune of several hundred dollars. On both occassions I worked with them the nearly entire length of the repair to ensure that it was done properly. One bill I recieved quoted 4 hours of labor--in fact the worker was gone about three of those four hours buying a pvc coupling to repair a bad exhaust pipe. So I was charged for three hours of his "shopping" and $5 for the pvc coupling. He left a mess for me to clean up as well. On another occassion, after the sheetrock was all installed, they came out to turn over the machines; it turned out that one of the thermostat wires they ran was faulty--they blamed it on a nail that penetrated the wire. To confirm and solve the problem, I had to bust three holes into the finished drywall for them to remove and replace the wire which turned out to not have any trace of external damage at all. They billed me several hours of labor for this "repair" which in fact took 30 mins for them to replace, AND I had to repair the drywall myself. To make a long and frustrating story short, throughout the entire job i've had to come behind the workers and clean up, repair, fix and at times redo myself that should have been done properly by them. They've billed me for any repair work done due to their bad installation, even though the contract says clearly, "10 warranty on parts, 2 years on labor." I initially hired them on the job because they had such glowing reviews on Angie's List, but my experience with them is entirely regretable. Every contractor has as few bad jobs, I guess I am the unfortunate one in this case, but I will never hire them again and would never recommend them to anyone else. The only positive thing i can say is that their office staff (over the phone) is very cordial and respectful, and the foremen on sight were also respectful. As for Harold Scott, the owner, he is very difficult to get a hold of, does not return calls, does not own up to his workers bad work, and generally does not seem to run his business very efficiently.

We woke up one morning to find we had no heat. After several attempts at relighting the pilot light on our gas furnace, which kept going out, we contacted Coldspring off of Angies List. It took them quite a few hours to get back to us, but once they did, everything happened quickly and efficiently. They called to let us know they would be there within the hour, and were. The tech saw that we needed the thermo-coupler replaced, a $20 part. After having zero issues with our furnace in 18 years, we figure we were very lucky indeed. He replaced the part and was finished within 45 minutes. Receiving same day service and having it fixed the first time made us very happy with the company. We will certainly use them again if necessary.

They did ok on the furnace repair. I felt it took them quite a bit of time and might have been because it was a new house to me and it could have been awhile since it had been serviced. The second time they advised me by phone about my radiators they I felt they were a bit demeaning when they advised I just "turn them up."

There was a problem in the air conditioner and heating, and they replaced the whole unit with no charge. We are also doing some re-modeling in the basement, and we wanted to move return duct. They did that job for us at very reasonable cost. I m very pleased with them. They were professional, responsive, punctual, and the quality of work was good. My overall experience with them was good.

Great - fair estimate on price, service. Expert people, only issue is getting them to call me back. I wanted to pay them good $$$ but hard to get a hold of sometimes. VERY punctual.

I'd used them in the past with good results. My older unit acts up about once a year. Although there was a delay of about 15 minutes waiting for a second serviceman to arrive to help find some hidden part, the men were professional, the owner very responsive, and the work was done well. They provide 90 day written guarantee to all work and I felt confident that my heater was good from there.

I had a leak that was problematic because it was difficult to determine the source. They are the second company I brought in to resolve the problem. Coldspring did a thorough and careful assessment and was able to fix the problem.

They got the job done. Their craftsmanship was lacking, I believe. Their crew was not very good at utilizing time. The foreman on the job was excellent, but the crew was not the greatest. It seemed like the simplest tasks were done poorly or with a large waste of time. I did raise some concerns with them and the foreman came back and addressed the issues I was concerned with. Generally, the crew was not very professional.

They were fantastic from start to end. I called over a holiday weekend and they were one of the few who answered and got back to us with a time to come out. They came the next day right when they said they would (we had already been waiting 2 days for another company and they still couldn't commit). The tech was a lovely guy who I think might be the owner. He found a loose electrical connection and got our service back on in a jiffy. He was neat, courteous, and helpful. And he didn't try to take advantage of an old lady or a holiday weekend ! What a pro! P.S. I had to laugh when I read the other review about how he told the person how to make the repairs themselves. The customer was upset that he didn't do the work for her/him. No doubt the Coldspring tech thought he was helping save the poor gal/guy some money with do-it-yourself advise. Well, there's no pleasing some people! This company is a keeper!!

They were very professional. They came out and looked clean coming in and going. There was no cussing from them or loud music. The owner came out first and fulfilled his commitment to us. He did what he said he was going to do. He even made an opening for the duct work that the other contractor hadn't opened, even though, this was not in the original contract he had with us. He then called back a week later to make sure the duct work was functioning properly. I was very grateful for that. The price for everything was quite reasonable and even though it was a little more than what we initially wanted to pay, we are so glad we did it. Even my teenage son was happy with the new new unit. My heat at 72 degrees is now warmer than the heating system the prior heating contractor put in. I have been recommending Coldsprings to everyone and would use them again.

They were able to schedule same day service, promptly came out (albeit 30 minutes later then they said) and were professional and friendly. They identified the problem as "frozen coils" due in part to a dirty filter. He also checked the pressure of the system and found it was also low. In 30 minutes and for $165, they were able to bring the system back up to full operating condition. Cornel is the name of the technician and he is extremely knowledgeable and friendly.

I called this morning saying that my air conditioner was not working. They said they could set up an appointment in a few days or call me back when someone was available that day. They called me 3 hours later, and 3.5 hours later the service man was there. He did a good job finding the wiring problem in the main unit in the basement and then looked for the leak in the AC unit. Unfortunately, the leak will cost more than it's worth to repair, but the tech was able to refill the coolant and told me that it should work for the season if I want to hold off getting it replaced. This was somewhat expected since the unit is 20 years old.
