Not well. Other contractor had it repaired, not replaced in 30 minutes.

I have used Calvert for almost 30 years---have always found them to be honest, fast and fix it right the first time. Last night a 2 am our hot water heater began to leak--I called the 24 hr service center, and the on duty tech talked me through shutting it down and draining it. This morning they were here at 9 am with the new one. It does not get better that that

Horrible.  This company, I believe, ripped
off my elderly father.  My father was charged almost $650 for a simple
kitchen faucet replacement.  He was charged for 2 hours of labor at $137
per hour.  The job, according to the tech (Shaun), took 1.5 hours.  My
father was charged for 2 full hours.
Additionally, my father was
charged $372 for a Moen faucet, which costs $189 at Home Depot.  When I
called to find out why he was overcharged for the faucet, I was told
that the faucet was bought from a plumbing distributor (I got the name
and number of the distributor).  I called the distributor to find out
how much they sell the faucet for...$235.  So, basically the faucet was
marked up $137.  Outrageous!
My father was not given any options regarding faucet models or pricing.  He was simply charged after the work was completed.
When I called to complain, Angelo was not helpful.  "We need to make money."
Avoid working with this company.  I really feel like they've ripped off and taken advantage of my elderly father.

Every job for over 20 years has been done perfectly. Prices are a tad high, but worth it .

It was overall a smooth and good experience. The company customer service representative and contractor were very professional and refreshingly nice. The system was repaired over two visit and they were very accommodating in scheduling the second appointment. I was given an explanation of the problem and how to avoid it in the future. I would definitely use them again for future repairs.

My furnace was installed by a former employee of this company on his own time as part of Christian service, so the unit was not listed in the company's system. The service technician came to the problem cold. He had to drive 15 miles to a parts store for the part. So the labor charge was double what it could have been had parts for the unit had been on the truck. The technician said that the unit would be in the company's system should there be future problems.
Make sure the person who is going to do the service knows exactly what brand and model you have as well as what the specific problem is.

The access to the outside unit of my air conditioning system is not easily accessible. The repairman showed up on time and was able to gain access to my roof to repair the unit without any difficulty. I have had problems with other repair services because of the accessibility issue and was happy to find a company that was able to help me.

Calvert did an excellent job. They were always here when they promised they would be and finished the job on time. The quality of the work was great: the cabling was neat and clean, including a tricky run from the basement to the attic on the exterior of the house. They accomplished their work efficiently and with minimal disruption. I wish all contractors worked this well.

I needed to replace the diverter and the pipes in upstairs bathroom. They installed new copper piping, they installed a new tub and shower faucets, he had to cut through the walls to access the pipes, which they did replace damaged walls, overall this company is ok.

I had a slow draining drain in my basement. The guy that came out was clean, neat and did a very good job. I would highly recommend him. It was a great outfit to deal with, which is hard to find in Baltimore.

I purchased the trim myself, but didn't realize I also needed a matching diverter (plumbing piece that goes behind the wall of the shower). So, paid for a service call ($125) the first time for nothing, as I didn't have the right parts. Had them out again and it went fine. The work performed was very good and have had no problems since then. It did take about three hours, so the cost was a little higher than I anticipated. The company also charges 1/2 hour labor for "travel time" plus a $10 fuel surcharge.

In a previous visit to fix the existing feeder, the Calvert technician told me we needed to replace it and would look into ordering the part. Hadn't heard anything a month later, so called. It then took many more phone calls and unreturned messages to get the part ordered. The administrative operation was very disorganized and frustrating to deal with. Two months after the initial visit, a technician came to replace it. It look quite a bit longer than I expected, and on top of it I was charged for labor beginning at 8:00am, though he didn't arrive until 9:15 (my fault for not checking the bill before handing over a check). I contested the extra labor charge, and after several more phone calls the company agreed to refund an hour of labor. A check arrived a short time later. The part ended up being quite expensive, too. Despite the administrative difficulties, I am happy with the work that was performed.

There was an initial miscommunication with the scheduled appointment but Calvert rectified the situation immediately and provided excellent service. They determined the noise was coming from a loose screw in the inducer motor. We will call them again.

All of the work went very well. The service technicians came promptly. The office staff was very helpful, with regard to scheduling. The work was completed in a timely fashion and when there was a problem with the installation of the heating unit (the capacity was not large enough for the room), they quickly rectified the situation to my satisfaction.

Existing utilities were properly located before excavating. Work was performed in a timely manner. Final grading was satisfactory. Work was reasonably priced. Quality of work was satisfactory, with exception to damage to existing sidewalk due to difficulty in locating sewer line.

Was pleased with the second repairman and his work. The initial repairmen seemed to not be interested in their work and helping out us (the customer), forged their time on their worksheet, and I feel overcharged for hardware (the cheap looking faucet assembly was given a charge of $450. And we had no choice in style, brand, etc.). Was not pleased with Calvert's Billing Department, and how they turned their error into being our fault. Promptness was great, though. If you need someone in a matter of hours, they can be relied on for that. Only saving grace for not giving an "F" Grade was because of the second repairman's attitude and workmanship.
