"We pride ourselves on our top quality work and outstanding customer service. From all of our customers, this is the only complaint that we have ever received. This can be verified by checking with the Home Improvement Commission and Better Business Bureau. Through authorized Change Orders, customer drove the cost of the contract up. We agreed to finance up to $7,500. During the course of work, customer ran out of money and ceased making payments. We carried the excess debt and cut prices in an effort to complete the project, which would be to the benefit of all parties. After months of deferred payments and being unresponsive to our calls, customer paid a portion. As per the terms of our contract, we proceeded to attempt to resolve this matter through legal mediation. All parties agreed to a settlement of $6000. Our company took a loss of $2,250 plus expenses incurred throughout the project. In deference to mediation, we didn't pursue legal action. We acted in accordance with MHIC regulations and in full compliance with the law, and feel the members have acted unjustly and maliciously. It is unreasonable to give a rating based on a single opinion."
