AUTOBAHN OF TOWSON

I saw them at the end of August because I was going on vacation.  The cost wasn't outrageous.  I don't know what brakes cost.  They fit me in quickly and they got me out of there quickly.  What keeps me going back?  Pricing, quality of service, professionalism, they know your car, they keep records on your car so they know what's coming up.  They retain good employees, they don't have turnover like with other places, they're just ... I can't speak highly enough about them.  They told me not to buy a car and then I bought another car from the same place, and they looked at and said this one's fine.

There's only one place in town to use if you've got a foreign car, I mean a German or Swedish or English.  I've been going to them for 25 years.  I won't buy a car that they can't fix.  I've called them from New Jersey with something wrong with my car, and they'll tell me what to do, to jury-rig it to get it home. They go above and beyond.  The problem with them right now is that if they don't know you or if you don't come in through somebody they know, they get so busy that it can be a two week turnaround.  But because I've been such a loyal customer for so many years, they get me in immediately.  As I said, I would not buy a car ...  I mean, I only buy used BMW's, not that frequently, and any car I buy has to be one that they can fix; because they are honest, they will tell you, you don't need to fix this, don't worry about it, don't spend the money, it's an electrical issue, your car's running fine.  Grade-wise, I give them AAAAA, plus,plus,plus,plus,plus.  I tell anybody I know about them; they are just the absolute best.  People that go to dealers are crazy.  And they will tell you when you need to go to a dealer.  I won't buy a car if they can't work on it.  They're just wonderful; they're good people, they're nice people, they're honest.  I mean, to run into an honest mechanic - I can't find an honest mechanic for my daughter's Subaru.  Not that they're dishonest, but I haven't found one that is anything like these guys.   I've been using them since the 80's.  We used to come up to them when we lived downtown.  I'd say probably since '86 - so I guess 31 years.

Because I had an emissions control to go through, I needed to have that looked into. They have special machines that actually give a reading and do some kind of resetting of the code so that the indicator would not be coming up again. It was relatively straightforward, but they have a very expensive machine which gives them a complete profile of anything that might require maintenance. At that point it was simply some kind of resetting of a sensor.

It's somebody we know and they do good work and a good price so that's been my vehicle repair place for anything other than routine maintenance. 

They gave me a quick look underneath before they actually went through with the work to see what needed to be done.

We used Autobahn to service our Volvos and Volkswagens for 19 years and were always happy with their service.  They are very trustworthy.  We are sad that with the recent purchase of a Subaru we will no longer be able to use their services.

I have not used them probably eight years. I have referred any number of people to them. It's expensive because they work on foreign, luxury automobiles. They were helpful, fair and honest. They did a good job. They go above and beyond. They are just very nice people. The price is good. I would absolutely use them again in the future.

I used them until 1999 when I moved. Their forte was Mercedes Benz and Volvo mostly. It was a small operation but a really good operation. They were very competent in their diagnosis and their fix. Their prices were decent. It was run well. They were honest. They took care of me for a long time and they were just good. It was a family thing.

They're really great. They work on foreign cars. They are approved providers for various cars. I've had BMW's and Volvo's before. What I like about them is that they're extremely nice but that's not the main reason I use them. They're good. They're honest and will tell you how to save money and try to save you money on stuff. If you have an issue, it's a small enough business that you can go in and they'll take a look at it. They're just really good to their repeat customers. You don't get socked with a bill because they looked at it for 15-20 minutes. I've preferred many people to them and they've had the same reaction.

Had to get the exhaust repaired on Saab 9-5 as it started making booming noises. Was advised that exhaust system usually lasts lifetime of car but perhaps this one had spent time in New England and had corroded. Parts were expensive but work was done on time and within estimate quoted. We have a 1999 Saab 9-5 and 2000 VW Golf which we usually take here for major work.

These guys are awesome. They're much cheaper than a dealer but do every bit as good a job. They've kept our '86 Volvo 740 (with 250K miles) running like new for almost 20 years. Dave will never tell you your car needs something if it doesn't. They're trustworthy and very flexible. In fact, Autobahn is the reason we've been buying Saabs and Volvos exclusively since 1990.

They were very friendly and professional. The shop was convenient and easy to find.

I started using this repair service about 3 years ago after the warranty ran out on my Audi. I was referred to them by a co-worker. I wish I had started using them much sooner. Their work has been exemplary and at prices much lower than the dealer. For example, the dealer wanted almost $1800 to replace the water pump and timing belt. For 20% less Autobahn replaced the pump and belt, performed the 80k engine service, fixed the brakes and rotated the tires. I usually schedule the work about 2 weeks in advance, but when I had the water pump leak, they asked me to stop by so they could check out how bad the leak was. It wasn't too bad so I had a few days to make arrangements for alternate transportation and Autobahn was able to get my car on their schedule in a just a couple of days. The car has always been ready the day promised; it would be more convenient sometimes to be able to get the car earlier in the day but it's no big deal considering how great their prices are on both parts and labor. If you are in the Towson area and have a German car this is the place to go. It is a pleasure doing business with this group of really nice and competent people.

They are professional and on time. They are nice and do things at the spur of the moment. They are trustworthy and don't do unnecessary repairs.

We had used this repair service for many years. They specialize in foreign cars. Our cross country volvo had been showing the "engine" light for years...they kept telling us not to worry. We broke down and paid $1500. Two days later we broke down again and paid $1000. Three days later, broke down and they wanted $4000 to fix the car. This is when we parted company.
