TV Repair
Tech was supposed to come between 12-5pm. Called that morning to say he would arrive around 5pm. We explained that this was terrible because my wife had take work off for the entire day to meet the technician and show him to the TV. He said he would call if he could come earlier. At 4:00pm he called to say he was not going to come at all and that he was just too busy and too far away. My wife was furious and asked for his name, and he would not give it to her! We had been assigned this company through Best Buy's Geek Squad. Now we are angry at both this local company and Best Buy for putting us in this position. Nightmare. Oh, and our TV is still broken.

TV Repair
My experience with this company has been ANYTHING but good.
We contacted the company to fix a Mitsubishi television. We were told the cost would be $125.00 for the service call which could be applied to the repair. We were not informed that the $125.00 could not offset the price of just parts.
The service technician arrived and diagnosed that the TV required a new power board and lamp for a total cost of $625.00. I told the service Tech the lamp was still good as the TV had less then 200 hours and the bulb appeared to be in good working condition. He admitted it did not need replacement. After speaking with his office he adjusted his price to $350.00.
At this point I was leary and concerned about the integrity of the company and the on site representative. I told him that the on line cost of the power board was $45.00 and the repair should take less then 30 minutes. He then proceeded to tell me that I could save significant money if I ordered the part directly from Mitsubishi and either installed it myself or had him install it independently from his company. I paid the $125.00 fee believing that I could solve the repair quickly and in a cost effective manner.
After spending several hours with Mitsubishi I was informed that I could not order the part without being an authorized service center. After recontacting Advanced Video and explaining the situation they refused to repair the TV for less then the previously quoted price of $350.00. Apparently Advanced Video marks up cost over 100% which I believe is a MAJOR RIP OFF!!!!

TV Repair
I called Advance Video on the recommendation of a local entertainment system company. I specifically informed them when I made the appointment that Sharp had a bulletin on this problem. Tech arrived with no information so I gave him the little bit of what I found on line. He opened the back, cleaned some contacts on the circuit board. TV still did not work. He said I needed a new circuit board. I knew from research that this was not the problem and told him I would get in touch with Sharp to get it fixed. Sharp confirmed this was a known problem with a known fix which has nothing to do with the circuit board. Sharp is sending a tech to make the repair.
