HVAC system totally worthless and had to be replaced after 6 years at our expense. 6 years of constant breakdowns - expensive for us -and them- to some degree.

After almost 4 years, continued rounds of water damage, have to have the "new" roof completely removed and redone a second time (3 years after initial visit) as recently as tonight I have to rip out more drywall because of water pouring through my ceiling that I tracked to a vent in the roof that was not properly sealed. They have been rude, unprofessional, their workmanship is horrible, and they have stopped responding to me all together. In addition, the damaged some of our property, promised to fix and never did, left trash everywhere, and I was told by one of their subcontractors that they do not pay heir trades people either. Steer clear of this miserable company.

I called on November 24th, December 2nd, and December 4th.  All three times the receptionist promised someone would get back to me immediately, after taking down my name, phone number, and project address.  I am still waiting for a returned phone call.
They initial project would have been smallish work on our kitchen and bathrooms, but if they had done a good job, we would have used them for a major addition (2nd floor) to our house, which would have been a good amount of money.  Their loss in their complete failure to return three phone calls.

Three River Builders, LLC, were excellent, quick and on time. They blew my dryer vent and it's short and I clean it constantly but it still had a ton of stuff in it. But they were very good and I was very pleased with their service. The price was very fair and was exactly what they estimated. They gave a discount because I was with Angie's List.

Received a real sarcastic single line email from Mike: "I think you should finish what you start."  Wish I could.  I definitely wouldn't choose these guys to do it.  I have no idea how they have so many positive reviews here.
A simple "We're not interested" would have been fine and gotten the point across.  Instead Mike deliberately decided to be nasty to me.  Completely unprofessional- should be a huge warning to stay away from these guys!

Update: Since the owner decided to respond below that the job was 90% done, just wanted to add that the contractor which we ended up using did not think so!  I believe the project took their two carpenters about 3 full days of work.  At least now I understand where the extreme rudeness which Mike used in every communication was coming from, which was more than I could get before leaving this review.  Regardless, anyone who speaks to a potential customer in the way Mike spoke to me over several emails should be avoided!

"[member name removed]---You had the job 90% done calling me or anyone else to ask questions on how to finish it really is not doing me any good or any other contractor. We are trying to run and provide a service to support our families,I'm sorry but you can look online to get the answers you need to finish the job you have almost done."

Mike and his team are top notch.  Mike is professional, communicative and easy to work with.  He helped us keep a balance between what needed to be done and what was "nice to have," helping keep costs in check.  When the original painting was not completed correctly, Mike personally saw to it that it was redone, promptly, at no extra cost and with sincere apologies.  He's more of a perfectionist than I am, which is saying something.  Truly excellent to work with.
We will definitely work with Three Rivers Builders in the future on other projects in our own home.

Mike came out to look at the house and go over the work we'd like done, and he said he'd provide an estimate.  Unfortunately an estimate was never provided nor any follow-up phone call made.

We found Mike Cramer, CEO/owner of Three Rivers Builders, through Angie's List and again--as with our other picks from the List, scored a homerun.
Contractors previously interviewed for the job (none from Angie's List) tried to dissuade us from cedar siding for the house because (a) they didn't do cedar siding; and/or (b) they specialized in vinyl siding and they were determined to sell us on an idea which was totally inconsistent with our stated preferences.
Enter Mike Cramer of Three Rivers, whose appraisal and estimate were detailed, clear, honest, and fair.  He spent a great deal of time outlining for us the numerous options along with their advantages and disadvantages, he gave us a start date and an approximate schedule (weather permitting--lots of outside work to be done) and once hired, he honored his commitments to the timetable and quality which he'd promised.  Mike uses highly specialized and skilled subcontractors for each facet of the job and throughout the process, Mike was in evidence just about every day, keeping in close touch with the work crews as well as with us.
Mike sets a very high standard for his designs and for the workers who execute them, so even the smallest details, e.g. window framing, were done to perfection.  What a joy to hire a professional and let him do the job, knowing that it's going to be done exactly right.

It was a terrible, messy job and required a lot of coordination to match
hardwood flooring, roof shingles, siding, etc.  Since it has now been
over a year, I wanted to report that the work still looks very good and I can
almost forget that the fireplace was ever there.
I have given this company an "A" rating overall.  However, I did have some issues that I feel that I had to be on top of or the repair wouldn't have gone as well.  For example:  Although I had the exact shingle brand and color and this was relayed (as I had had the roof redone the year before), worker showed up with another brand of shingle and had I not been there insisting that they were wrong, I would have had mismatched shingles on my roof.  Being that I have a neighbor with mismatched shingles, I know how unsatisfied
I would have been.  Siding was hard to find but Mike tracked it down.  I found the exact hardwood floor match.  I had some of the wall paint left over and that was done very well.  Looks good.
As a homeowner with a home that I would like to remodel more, it was awful to have to spend this kind of money on removing a fireplace but I think that Mike is pretty fair and even though I felt that I had to be on top of things (I couldn't be on automatic pilot), I feel that the job was done well and in a timely manner.  When I had an issue, Mike was responsive and addressed it and I would hire Three Rivers for work again.

Originally called a local handyman service and after a series of excuses decided to checked Angies List.  Choose Three Rivers Builders.  The next day Mike came out to check the problems and give an estimate.  Mike and Allan agreed that the corner porch support had rotted along with some of the railing.
After checking the porch roof they found several weak spots.  Allan notices that the caulking on the exterior of the home had dried out and need to be replaced.  Also, after looking at the roof and noticing that the shingle were stiff and not flexible as they should be, he suggested that the roof be replaced.
After discussion with my husband, we decided to have the work done now instead of next year as we were planning on doing.
The work took about 2 weeks due to rain and the special ordering of the porch support.
The progress of the work was checked on a daily bases.

They were way out of line. Their price was twice as high as anybody else I have talked to. They gave me a price of two dollars and eighty cents for a square foot including nothing. I would have to provide whatever they needed. I provided my own material obviously but I would have to provide to those builders any kind of tools or whatever they would need. They responded faster than anybody. The answer came from his cellphone. I do not think it is very professional to just send somebody a reply on the phone. If you want my business, you should at least talk to me. I would not recommend those guys. I would definitely not use them in the future.

He has been very prompt. The estimates have been good. Those are the things I like, it is just making sure that everything is followed through with the estimates and tracking because he is very much on to the contract. It is going to be written down. It seems like they are doing a pretty good job.

The contractor arrived for the appointment to look at my bathroom.  He measured and gave me the estimate a few days after.  I decided not to accept the offer because I thought I could save some funds by using another firm.

The crew was there when promised, and did a neat, clean job.  Mike was helpful in choosing the accent tiles for the job and spelled out the job timetable in detail.  Each day the workers were there on time and worked a full day.  When the electrician came to replace the fan in the bathroom and add lighting over the shower, he found problems with the existing electrical system.  It was fixed at no additional charge.  When the old tub came out and the new one put in, the new tub was slightly narrower than the old.  Floor tiles had to be found.  Mike did this and they were installed at no extra charge.    All in all, we were very satisfied with Three Rivers Builders and will use them for future projects.  They were always on time and easy to get in touch with.  The quality of the work is very good.  The workers were polite and cleaned up each day

Three Rivers' work was fantastic!  They always arrived and completed their work on time.  The workers were very professional.  They ensured that they understood all my requirements and went above and beyond my expectation. They also ensured that what  I requested was truly what I wanted.  An example of this was when I requested that a floor board be replaced because it looked warped.  When the worker inspected it, he discovered that the floor board was fine.  The floor joist needed to be braced.  After discussing this, he brace the joist, properly correcting the problem.  This really impressed me. He could have performed the work I requested without actually correcting the problem.  Their prices are very reasonable and work is outstanding!

Mike, the owner, personally wrote us the quote for every job.  The price was very fair compared with other quotes.  The Three Rivers Crews are friendly and listen to our comments and concerns and trouble shoot with us if necessary.  They were always polite and pleasant to get along with.  They sometimes even worked on Saturday and Sunday to get the job done.  They always cared about how the finished product looked and we haven't been disappointed with any of their jobs.  It's nice to know the crews by name now.  Three Rivers Builders is one of the best contracting companies we have ever worked with and we are still working with them today.

This project was a doozie!  it involved renovation, addition to an older shore home.  Bringing it up to the expectations we had and wanting it to fit into an old waterfront neighborhood that is changing daily was a lot of work.  The contractor had to work within the confines of the existing footprint  while making the old house retain it old-time charm and adding the new mostly wide open concept look so great from inside and the outside looking onto the site!
We had a lot of rain at that time which was a problem when a roof is removed!  However, we all stayed dry and got thru it.
Mike's crew saw to it that we were fine and minimized any problem situations.
A major project like this is difficult, and we knew it going in, but its always more difficult when you really go thru it.  However, I was still working, my husband was retired, mostly home, and Mike and crew were trustworthy and we did not have any concerns with him being in the house and on the site if we had to be out of the house.
That means a lot nowadays!  Not everyone is honest and trustworthy.
I was so anxious for the rooms to be done I probably drove him nuts, but he was fine and just got it done as quickly as possible.and we thank him for that.

For the most part things went very well.  The bathroom remodel was a major job.  The demolition was quick and everything was cleaned up at the end of each day.  I was able to pick out tile, flooring , cabinetry and fixtures.  I was instructed where to go for each of these items and the service at each site was very professional.  The biggest issue was a problem with the heated flooring.  After some discussion and options the repairs were made to our sastisfaction.
Three Rivers Builders was the most creative contracting company we spoke to.  The bathroom is definitely not a "cookie cutter' room.  We have had so many compliments on the bathroom.

The bedroom, foyer and hallway painting looks great.  There were some issues with the crown moldings but once I contacted Mike and explained the problem things were corrected immediately.

Our  house looks so different since we have had all this work done.  The changes have been all for the better.  Our 20 year old house looks classic and updated.

Our next project is a dining room update and Three Rivers Builders will be doing the work.

We are happy with what they did for us. I think the cost was a little higher than we were going to pay but they weren?t outrageous compared to other companies. They were responsive and they did what we needed them to do. We haven?t gone ahead with the work but that is no reflection on them.
