Karina grossly overcharged me for the last major project. She wanted an additional $5,300 upon completion of 2 out of the 3 projects I had paid for. We had already agreed on the price of the project before we started. I paid for the entire project upfront, but Karina inflated the originally agreed upon price. I did agree to pay for an assistant to help the project progress, but the assistant's labor was not $5,300. Moreover, Karina owed me a credit for $800 since she did not start the 3rd project. Originally, Karina quoted me a reasonable price for the project. After she finished, she tried to force me to pay her $5,300. I wound up paying her an extra $4095 as a compromise. So I paid nearly $8,000 for 2 rooms. I became suspicious of Karina's business practices and asked her to furnish me with all of my receipts. I had not obtained copies of my receipts so I needed the receipts to audit the entire project and make sure she had not overcharged me over the summer. After I totaled every single payment to Karina, the sum was $35,719.75. Karina refused to provide me with accurate receipts and sent me some confusing scribble instead. After completing the audit, the results were: My payments $35,719.75. Karina's charges: $28,937.58. I asked Karina about the discrepancy (about $7,000) and she subsequently cut off all further contact.
