Excellent. This company knows what it is doing. The gentlemen that came were polite and worked very hard even on a Saturday. They dug trenches around entire perimeter of basement, installed three sump pumps, a large dehumidifier, drains in floor where needed and encapsulated the walls. We couldn't be happier. They arrived every day until completion and that is refreshing. This was a very large job and their professionalism and attention is appreciated. Basement looks great and we are looking forward to a dry environment for a change. So glad we contacted this company!

Don’t bring in a waterproofing company if you want them to troubleshoot your flooding problems. They don't care about the details of your particular situation and all have the same one-size-fits-all solution — a ditch around the inside perimeter of the basement floor fitted with pipes that lead water to a powerful sump pump with battery back-up. That said, I think it was the only solution to our problem — flooding rains that raised groundwater into our basement. With climate change, this problem is likely to get worse. We got quotes from three A-rated companies and went with MMW. Their price was about $1000 less than the others, only because the other companies required tie-ins that I knew we didn’t need. George exuded a knowledgable, professional demeanor that contrasted with the pushy sleaziness of the other companies. We waited two months for them to start, partly because of Prince George’s County’s byzantine permitting process. But once they got started with demolition of our finished basement, they needed an immediate decision on whether they could cut our bathtub in half to remove it from the bathroom. I later concluded (and my rebuilding contractor confirmed) that they could have removed the tub in one piece, which would have saved me over $1000. They also failed to plug in our freezer after unplugging it three separate times, which could have ruined a lot of food. Those are my only complaints though. They were professional and thorough. The job seems to be really well done. They never asked for a penny until the job was done and they got repeated assurances that I was satisfied.

Excellent. This company consistently does top quality work. They are not the least expensive but they do the job correctly from the onset. Loads of experience, excellent customer service and communication. Overall a very impressive and trustworthy company.

Entire process was as smooth as a project like this could be. Wendy thoroughly inspected and documented my crawl space mold, drainage, and moisture issues. She tediously reviewed my project and provided a variety of options. The crews that came out (1 - mold remediation/cleanup and 2 - encapsulation) were professional, prompt, clean, and responsive to questions I asked. MM&W isn't the cheapest company but they are the best and I would hire again...although I hope I don't ever need to.

This is the follow up review to my review of 2/4/17. The crawl space moisture levels over the summer were greatly reduced due to MM&W's work. The part of main crawl space farthest from a dehumidifier had a humidity level averaging 65% during the summer, a little higher than MM&W was aiming for. MM&W did install extra ducting to pull air from the distant part of the crawl space to the dehumidifier, but that only dropped the humidity level by 1-2%. Even so, the work they did eliminated the previous odors and mustiness. We had a few spells this summer where we didn't use the central AC and even then the house was much more comfortable. We are very happy with their work.

Maryland Mold & Waterproofing did an excellent job for me and they did it at about 1/2 the price bid by a competitor - a difference of several thousand dollars! The system has been working well since installed, with good effect on all three levels of my house. Their installer was very professional and very considerate, taking care to clean up perfectly after the work was done.

He's been excellent, he explained everything that was happening. He left and even came back to check into the issue more to make sure his estimate was correct.

The work went very well. As noted in my ratings, MM&W was very professional, and did excellent work. They were punctual and polite and cleaned up at the end of each day. We needed a bit of follow up work (one dehumifier did not drain properly), and MM&W returned the day after I called and fixed it right up. I won't say it was cheap, but all materials appear very durable. The Santa Fe dehumidifiers are commercial grade and are suspended from floor joists, not sitting on the crawl space floor. I now can go into the two crawl spaces without wearing a dust mask and I do not notice any mold or mildew odors. I'll wait until the upcoming Maryland summer to pass final judgement on the effectiveness of the encapsulation, but do note that our heating ducts are not in the crawl spaces, so until now the crawl spaces remained pretty humid even in winter.

John Rivers, the owner, showed up on time for the site survey and estimate. Inspected the basement where we were having dampness issues. Identified those areas of the basement that required some remediation and, importantly, those areas that did NOT require work. Within five days provided a firm estimate with site plan and list of materials, which was submitted and accepted by the homeowner's association architectural committee. Work commenced on the planned date and completed on time, despite some weather issues. Workers were exceptionally productive, professional and careful. Invoice exactly matched the estimate. Received follow-up email to make sure the project was completed to our satisfaction. Greatly exceeded expectations through the entire process. John and his crew focused on what needed to be done and made it a point to explain why some things we thought were needed were actually unnecessary. Scrupulously honest.
