My husband and I bought a house in Severna Park from Dan Koehne in 1997. He had gutted and rebuilt the house several years before. In the 15 years we've owned this house, we've had to spend thousands of dollars to fix or repair the sub standard and sub code problems that have been found by other contractors. For example, we put an addition on the back of the house in '05. When the old decking was removed, it was found that Mr. Koehne had used no flashing when building the deck. There was major dry rot that had to be repaired at considerable expense. Electrical and plumbing systems put in by Mr. Koehne were found to to sub standard and barely to code...more money out of our pockets. Recently we had to replace the master bath tile floor. The sub flooring was found to be plywood instead of proper under layment to support the tile. No wonder the floor cracked to pieces. The list of mistakes and corner cutting by Mr. Koehne goes on and on and I don't have enough space here to list it all. My point is, if Koehne Contracting's work is anything like the way our house was built by Dan Koehne, I wouldn't hire them if they paid me. I suggest you don't either.
