We were interviewing companies for our remodel. A representative came to the house to discuss details. When he was told that we wanted to use a home builder from NY for the bulk of the work but would need local people for things such as foundation work, electricity and plumbing, he was immediately put off. He took a copy of the house plans that we had paid to have copied and left us with the impression that he would be in touch. We never heard from him again even after repeated calls to his office. We even said that we would come by the office so that we could pick up the plans that he had been given. No response. In retrospect, he was not going to take the job. He should have been more up front with us and not taken our plans. I feel that we dodged a bullet when we were left hanging.
