Forked Creek Construction

The following review is all factual and I have purposely left out any personal opinions. Forked Creek did not abide by the MHIC established guidelines pertaining to contracts between contractors and homeowners. Forked Creek Construction sent false claims to the Anne Arundel County Office of Inspections and Permits regarding the electrical work performed. I have documentation that the electrical work was performed and it was later determined that there was a building code violation for the electrical work performed. Forked Creek Construction ignored manufacturers instructions for the installation of Hardie siding which resulted in avoiding the warranty on the finish. Forked Creek Construction hired an HVAC subcontractor who was unlicensed in the state of Maryland. The resulting work done by the HVAC subcontractor contained building code violations that were corrected by a third party. Forked Creek Construction did not follow manufacturers installation instructions for a railing for a deck that was 12 feet above the ground. Forked Creek Construction lied and said the manufacturer did not send the proper hardware. I found the installation instructions, the packing list, and the proper installation hardware in the garbage that evening. Forked Creek Construction did not follow the architects plans that were provided to construct the deck. It was later determined that the deck contained multiple building code violations and Forked Creek Construction ignored both official violation notices sent by the Anne Arundel County of Inspections and Permits (side note, the Anne Arundel County Office of Inspections and Permits made no effort to hold Forked Creek Construction accountable for the violations and it has now become my problem according to them). Forked Creek Construction was performing work at my residence for other jobs and was ignoring my pleas to focus on our project. Forked Creek Construction removed building materials from the property which I was billed for and the owner knew I was going to use them for the Construction of a shed upon completion of the renovation. I was not credited for the materials taken. Forked Creek Construction did not pay the subcontractor they hired to do the drywall and the subcontractor said by law they could put a mechanic’s lien on my house however they did not take action in the allotted time frame. Forked Creek Construction abandoned the project prior to completion and did not return my calls for several months. When I did finally hear from them, it was because they were suing me because they had not been paid in full. Again, this review is strictly fact and void of any opinion. I hope anybody who reads this review can make a careful and informed decision prior to the consideration of using Forked Creek Construction for any projects.
