They did a terrific job of cleaning up. As you might imagine, the complete remodel of my bathroom created a lot of dust. However, Dave's workers took care to maintain my carpets in the condition they found them.
Dave was there for the first day and the last day of the project. In between, he checked in with me daily to find out how I thought things were going. The project lasted 10 working days - which is exactly the amount of time he predicted.
His workers are courteous and trustworthy - which I appreciate in light of the fact that we work full-time jobs.
I find Dave's pricing to be very reasonable. He has been terrific to me and I always feel like he is charging me a fair price.
I would highly recommend him.
"s of this writng, we have not received payment for work done at the jobsite. Dave went to look at the job request and gave a quote for repairing a door lock, replacing the owner's chandelier, painting the ceiling if necessary and repairing a dead bolt in the laundry room. When Dave did the work quoted on Dec 14, the chandelier to be installed turned out to be very difficult to do and took extra time. On that day, the owner asked Dave to remove the medallion where the original chandelier hung and to patch the ceiling which he did. This work was not included in the original quote or in the estimate. Because the ceiling had to be patched, Dave informed the owner that he would have to come back on a 2nd trip to paint given drying time allowance for the ceiling. He asked the owner if she would pay for the work done and completed that day and she refused and replied that she would call us back to arrange a date for painting and then pay us. We did not hear back from the owner. We sent over the invoice on Dec 23. She then replied with dates for us to return. When we informed her that the 2nd trip (which she was told would be needed) would cost $125 extra (the cost of the original invoice was for $275 and did not include the extra work done) due to it being a 2nd trip, The customer replied that they would take care of it themselves. This is the first time, via Angie's List, that we are hearing how unsatisfied the customer is. We strive for 100% customer satisfaction but given that extra work was done at no charge, and we had to prompt the customer to hear back, We do not feel that $275 is an unfair price or that it is unfair to charge for a 2nd trip. The review is unfair and rather harsh given the work was done and we had to follow up with the customer for payment on work that was done . Also as noone but Dave was present in the room where work was being done, we are confused about the comment regarding phone calls especially about a worker not showing up as it was a one man job Dave did in the afternoon. Dave does not take calls when he is working. As of this writing, payment has not been received. All of the work was done professionally and correctly."
Dave Friedlander and his construction crews were very punctual, hardworking and completed everything in a high quality way. We had a basement flood. Dave provided the best price and had people on-site working almost every day for 2.5 weeks to complete everything in record time. He is very knowledgeable about all aspects of home remodeling so his recommendations were well received. My wife and I are so pleased with how everything looks. The floor team and demolition/rebuilding/painting team were a please to watch as they really were experts. I have been using Dave's services for 25 years and 2 houses. He has done a nice job with carpeting and installing hardwood floors in the past. Dave was available by phone any time there was a question or concern.
The whole process from the start of demo to completion took 5 weeks, and would have been about 4 if our condo allowed contractors to work weekends and past 6 pm. We were impressed by the artistry of Dave's cabinet installer and his tile guy, and the rest of the team did a great job, too. It was especially helpful that Dave assumed full responsibility for every aspect of the work and made himself available to resolve any concerns that arose. He works with very professional, courteous and resourceful people and did not declare a task to be "done" until he and we were satisfied.
project the best we could - Overall, we wish we had never set eyes on this guy and his workers. I would never recommend him to anyone who wants a smooth renovation - Dave's idea of doing something the right way is to do it three or four times till you get it right - too frustrating - please do yourself a favor and pass on Dave's Floor and More (more heartburn than you can imagine)
I will continue to hire Dave's Floors and More for every future project, as well as praise his name to all of my friends. His crew is top notch and they will leave you smiling.
