More than pleased with thoroughness and quality of work performed on short notice. Plan to so use them for some upcoming work that is more complex.  Their professionalism and price are very good.

I took down the old ceiling fan myself, thinking I could just install the new one.  It was a bit more complicated than I expected.  I called today and asked for installation of the new one today or tomorrow since I was home working around the house.  Bob called me back within a few hours, and he and his assistant came over a couple hours later and installed it.  Great service and Bob's a great guy!  The job was done in a little over a half hour.

On approximately 8/9/11 I called and spoke with the owner, Bob.  He seemed pleasant, we made an appointment for him to come to come to my home on August 12th at 4:30 p.m.  When he didn't arrive I called and left a mssage at around 5:30.  He called back at about 6:15 and said that he was sorry but I wasn't on his radar because he didn't get back to the office to see the note  with the appointment. On 8/15 he came to the house and discussed what I wanted, three fans installed (two with lights), a ceiling light replaced, floodlight bulb replaced and wall plate put over some capped wires.  We scheduled for 8/18 at 8:00 a.m.

8/18 Bob called and said they would be late because they had to finish up a job from the day before but would be there around 10:00.  An employee and helper arrived at 1:00 p.m.  They installed the ceiling light, replaced the floodlight bulb and capped the outlet.  When the electrician took down the light where the kitchen fan was to go he said that he didn't see how  it could be done given that there was too much space between ceiling and the sub-floor of second floor.  Thinking that I couldn't use the fan there I said I might use it somewhere else.  After looking at the location of a second fan he said he needed to get another box for it but didn't have time to do that but installed the fan I couldn't now use in the other location.  They left at 3:20 p.m.  My bill was $248.25.

8/20 Bob came to the house after hearing fan couldn't be installed.  Said that it could be attached to the cement that was in the cailing and he would send someone else on 8/25 at 8:00 a.m.

8/25 8:00 a.m. no electrician - 9:00 I called and left message -  sometime latter finally got to talk to Bob - he said  because of Tropical Storm Irene  he had big customers that needed to get their sump pumps working and in the scheme of things my fans weren't important.  I said that my fans may not be as important but my time is and he could have called me and he said that I just wasn't on his radar.  Even though I was wary, but since I had already paid 1/2 of the estimate, I decided to have them come and finish the job. Set date for 9/16 8:00

9/16 8:30 Bob calles to say the guy scheduled is not coming but someone else will be here at 9:00.  Asked him if he had the box for the fan and he said yes and the guy knows what to do.  11:15 the original guy comes and does not have box.  He does not have instructions from boss but he takes the light down to show me what he thinks. There is no cement but there is a plaster and lath sub floor for second floor with too much space between that and first floor ceiling to hang the fan.  Would need a drywaller to cut out big piece of ceiling and make adjustments.  They do not provide a drywaller.  We talked things out and he asked if I wanted him to go to store and get box and hang second fan.  I told him no thank you, I had no problem with him but I would not do business with his company ever again.

Bob Rogers estimated the project and provided a written contract. The electrician showed up on time, actually slightly early, and performed the expected work. He informed me that he needed to add a backing board and a new trunk line for the service panel. What I didn't know at the time was that was to be an additional cost, not included in the estimate. However, it was a nominal cost and the work was done in a half day. The electrician checked the circuits and cleaned up well. I later looked at the wiring inside the box and it was a work of art, much improved over the original 40-year old panel.

It was the owner's son(Kirk)who did the work, which was a surprise to us. He said he would be here on a Saturday morning and called 15 minutes before he was to be here and canceled with no explanation. We were overall happy with the recessed bulbs but we did end up having to hire another electrician to finish the work. It seemed he was trying to hurry throughout the entire job. He had left wires hanging. The company did send someone out pretty quickly to fix the wires. We called Anchor Electric after speaking with another electrician about completing the recessed bulb job, but Anchor Electric did not return our calls.

Fantastic. When I called on Friday afternoon, I was connected with the Owner, Bob Rogers, with whom I discussed the problems we were having. Bob came out to our house within an hour, viewed the service connections to our house, which appeared charred, and advised us to call BGE. BGE had still not come Friday evening, and we began to smell an electrical/burning smell throughout the house. We isolated the problem by switching off a breaker in our panel causing noise and vibration, and left a message with Bob Rogers on his cell phone (this is also the number listed for emergencies when you call the office after hours). When BGE finally came on Saturday morning, Bob phoned us back, and was able to speak directly with the BGE repair tech about his suspicions. BGE did find loose connections to our house, but there was still an issue with dim lights, so a service call was scheduled for Monday. Anchor came out to the house on time, when they said they would (first thing on Monday morning). The problem was identified as a loose neutral somewhere in the house, so it took a great deal of investigating. Anchor sent a second electrician to the house to assist in finding the location of the problem inside the house. Eventually, the electrician found an improperly grounded neutral in our electrical panel, apparently something that the City did not find when our last electrician performed a "heavy-up." The problem was fixed and we were charged a single per-hour rate (as opposed to a two-man rate), time only. I really feel that Anchor bent over backwards to help us, and wouldn't have charged us at all had the problem been resolved with BGE alone. The price we were charged was more than fair.

Came out pretty quickly to give an estimate. We were surprised at the price(sticker shock). We then got another estimate from another company which was $300+ dollars more expensive. We then called Kirk back and he offered a Sat. PM appt. At 3:30 on Sat., he called and said he couldn't make it. We then aimed for Monday early afternoon. No show-Tuesday he called and said he had a family emergency. Re-scheduled for Thu. saying he would call before coming. Sometime after lunch on Thu. he showed up, no call to say he was coming. Completed the 20 amp circuit job and checked out the lamppost but didn't have all of the needed parts for the outdoor floodlights. Came back Sat. morning(we weren't avail on Fri.)within 10 minutes of scheduled time and after running and getting more parts, completed the job. Final results look good and everything works.

Outstanding service, punctual and professional. Bill Wingate, the electrician, was on time, courteous, professional, attentive. His work ethic is outstanding. We'll likely request him by name for additional work we have planned. He found bad connections in a breaker panel previously installed by another electric company (who, to their credit, corrected it within two hours after I called them). He did exactly the work we asked for, worked steadily and methodically, and seems truly trustworthy.

Great experience. I talked to Anchor on Tuesday seeking an appointment for Wednesday. They were able to do this with no problem. The electrician, Bill, came out and had to deal with new carpet being installed at the same time he was working, so conditions were somewhat cramped. He was professional and did an outstanding job!

Great - though the technician was 1 hour late from when the appointment time was supposed to be. I think that was more of a miscommunication issue with the office. The technician answered all of my questions and was very helpful.

Listened to problem, asked where non-working outlets were, and then searched for GFI outlet that he surmised was the culprit. Quick diagnosis and professional.

It was great. They gave me a phone estimate, came over the next day, charged by the hour and were equally as concerned about speed as quality. They finished the job in about an hour and came in right at the estimate. This is the best electrical company I've dealt with.

Bob was very good at communicating with me and always returned my calls promptly. Was able to give an accurate estimate and was extremely helpful. Even gave me the name of a local plumber to finish our garbage disposal. There was a scheduling problem so what was supposed to be a one day project turned into two (normally not a big deal, but I had an appt the next day which I had to cancel). The work done was excellent and the gentlemen were very nice. The only thing I wish I had done was covered up more of our floors furniture and electronics. Bob said they would bring drop cloths, but they did not and I noticed way too late in the process. We are still cleaning up drywall dust and insulation. I would certainly use them again and suggest them for work....just have your own drop cloths ready!!!

I had contacted this company because of the reports already on Angie's List. Everyone I have talked to has been very polite and responsive. One time we did have a bit of a delay with someone getting back to us but the person who was supposed to call back was out of town so that's understandable. Usually one of the electricians comes that day or the next to do whatever work we need done. Everyone who has come out is professional, friendly and competent.

Kirk came out from Anchor Electric in April 2008 and did a quick, efficient job of setting up the outside connection (outlet) for the generator and the switchbox inside. We have since used the generator and it works like a charm. It could not have been a smoother, easier job. We will definitely call Anchor Electric first for our electrical needs.
