I am a huge fan of theirs. They have done a good job of making car repairs a little less painful. I was able to trust that they were giving me a good safe estimate. The estimate was $2,000. In the year prior to that, I probably had $4,000 worth of repairs done. It is expensive as h*ll, it is not cheap but I trust that it is actually needed. He is expensive but he is where he should be. It is not cheap repair but it is good repair. I would absolutely use him again.

I've patronized Holzhauser's several times and will never go elsewhere. I have a car that requires frequent expensive service (thanks, VW) but it's expensive wherever I go. This is the only mechanic that I would give carte blanche to do whatever they said was needed. This is primarily because, although I have required some expensive service, the owner has also saved me some money when he really could have gouged me. I was convinced that I had a bad U-joint (I really don't know much about cars) and I called him to schedule what I thought was a major repair. He asked if I parked outside, told me it was probably frozen, and then told me to go for a drive to break the ice loose. He was right and I stopped freaking out. Then I was forced to leave my car parked without care for 2 years and I was afraid it would require $5-6000 in repairs. He took the time to talk me through testing the fuel and starting it up, and I got off MUCH easier than I thought. The services aren't cheap but it's skilled labor - at least you can rest assured that it's necessary and will be done well.

I have been around garages my whole life, and done many repairs myself - so I would know if they were suggesting unnecessary work in order to make next month's boat payment. I feel Holzhauser's is a very professionally run business which I am sure enjoys many return customers. They have a decently stocked parts area of common items, so they don't need to delay repairs to get a certain oil filter or shock absorber - that is unusual. The parking area, office, and shop are meticulously clean and tidy - it looks like a dealership. A big plus, they have enough staff of certified mechanics that someone there will be able to figure out what is wrong with your car. We are new to Maryland, and I will go back again in the future.

They were good. We took two cars there for inspection and he had to do some work on one. He fairly priced it even before the work. He is very professional and friendly.

I trust Joe, the owner, above any mechanic I've ever dealt with. Been going to him since my neighbor, an automotive industry insider, recommended him 8 years ago. Joe's honest and knowledgeable. His labor rates are higher than shade-tree mechanics, but I would recommend him to anyone. He routinely services my wife's Honda Odyssey minivan. Never a complaint, and I'm an engineer! The shop is now located on Route 40 in Aberdeen - built from the ground-up by Joe. Easy to get to from APG.
