I’m really glad we went with Aspen Electric. I had a long list of items that needed updating. Ceiling fan install, new outlets inside and out, switches installed and some things just needed fixing. Mr Swearman got through the whole long list in 2 days. You can tell he’s done this professionally for decades. Everything went smoothly and those little things made our house a lot nicer (and safer) for my wife and me. Thanks Mr Swearman.

He was very good, he was a little abrasive when I first talked to him. I think I am a talker and a people person, he is probably not, but he was very, very knowledgeable with my husband. My father had dealings with him. I had met him actually, just because my dad had made an error on payment and he came by to get a different check to get the correct amount. 

At that time, he was actually very pleasant, but we are very happy with his work. We are actually planning/he gave an estimate for some additional work that we need to get done. So, once we get our funds for that we plan on using him again. 

He could have been more friendly on the phone, he was kind of abrasive on the phone initially. My father asked him if he was a master electrician and if he was very knowledgeable and everything. I want somebody who is knowledgeable. He is an ?A? across the board! 

When Barry opened up the new ceiling fan he found that part of it was broken. I told him I could go back to the store and get a replacement . He was very flexible and said he would go to another job and then come back to get my job done. He came back within a few hours and did the job I needed done. I was very happy with his work and how accommodating he was. Highly recommend !

Barry was phenomenal. He answered all of our questions, offered his expertise about what would work best in our home, and was extremely helpful. On time. So professional. Will be hiring him again and recommending him to anyone in need of electrical work. Prices are very fair. I'm a young woman who knows nothing about electrical work and I was worried about being taken advantage of. Definitely trust Barry to work on my house again. Thank you Barry!

Our second family interaction with Barry and, again, he was terrific!  We had used a Groupon for him to do a ton of work for my daughter and son-in-law who live near Baltimore and he was professional, punctual, and perfect.  We gave him a POH nomination for that visit.  We called in Barry again since we needed some broken bulbs extracted and replaced, a laundry room fixture replaced, and two outlets checked since they didn't work.  Since Barry lives in Aberdeen and we're in Silver Spring, we didn't want him to make a special trip for an estimate and it was NO problem.  He coordinated his trip here with other jobs he does regularly  in the Columbia and Rockville areas and also gave an estimate to my next door neighbor for her electrical work.  He completed all our work in one hour when he easily could have taken longer and charged us more - very honest.  He then installed recessed lighting for my neighbor and she was equally pleased.  Even if you live in MC or Howard, call him and he'll coordinate with you.  Great communication and a really nice guy!!

Barry accomplished a good deal of work in an 8 hour day.  I was quite impressed and will use him for upcoming work in my new place.  I recommend him without reservation.

It went very well.  He was scheduled to come out for a different date and called us with another available date which worked out great; communication was great. The only other costs were for materials and that was expected.

We purchased the Angie's List deal for our daughter and son-in-law who needed a number of electrical tasks done in their house.  Barry Swearman, the owner, came exactly at 8:30 AM, as promised.  He was very pleasant and very efficient.  Since they were concerned about the integrity of the wiring in the house, he checked the wiring as he worked and reassured us that any problems were due to faulty fixtures, not faulty wiring.  He completed all the items in the house in less than five hours, including having to trace wiring, locating the corresponding outlets and switches, replacing fixtures, replacing tricky bulbs, etc.  Since we had prepaid for an entire day, and he finished so quickly, they asked if he would mind repairing some things in their friends' house across the street and he was more than happy to do so.  He then replaced switches and outlets, plus a kitchen fixture in their house, in record time.  We all thought he was an expert, amazingly fast, and exceptionally nice.  An absolute 5 star review!!!  We plan to hire him ourselves for electrical in our house based in his outstanding work!!

I give  Aspen Electric Inc. the AAA rating for performance, quality workmanship and professionalism.  The serviceman (Barry), arrived on time, did a walk through for the "to do list" and began working.  I received 8 hours labor exactly as stated in the "Big Deal".  The fan installation was done first.  The serviceman carefully planned and gave me options before the work was started as there was no ceiling fixture.  All areas opened for the fan installation were cut out precisely and then closed in preparation for future drywall finishing. The results were an additional newly placed switch and a smoothly operating living room fan.
I added tasks to the list and made two trips to Home Depot for materials; the serviceman was polite and patient throughout.  All requests were completed, work areas cleared to my satisfaction and the  electric supplies bill settled within the allotted time.
I was extremely please about the stellar service and the "Big Deal"  price!  I recommend Aspen Electric Inc. to all Angie's List members searching for electrical service contractors.

First, after I purchased the deal, he contacted me promptly and we had a date scheduled quickly.  He arrived on time and nailed the task in far less time than I expected.  Instead of milking the job, he pretty much said, "what else"?  We had low voltage lights in the front that we thought would be extremely expensive to repair and he took care of that as well for no additional cost.  Finally, our door bell wasn't working and he told us a simple circuit board we needed.  If we wanted to, he would find it and replace it at a future date. 
We were EXTREMELY happy with Aspen and WILL use him again.

He did good work. There were no unexpected issues.

Barry showed up on time for the estimate, was responsive in returning calls/emails, showed up on time if not a little early to get started, and offered solutions to address some renovation issues (runing new wire in existing construction).  Was very neat, very quiet, did not waste any time, and the work was very professional.  The estimate was at a fair price point, he knew what he was doing, and he was clear on what was being delivered.
I think this experience was completely positive, all work was completed on time, with no disruption to our home, etc.  I will recommend him to folks looking for an electrician, would totally use him in the future, and normally I can find something to be upset with any job - none to be found here.  Excellent work.
