We had a fantastic experience with Vanguard. The owner came out and did an estimate the day after I called. On the day of the move, he and three employees arrived perfectly on time. They were dressed neatly in uniform and were extremely personable and detail-oriented. They took great care with all of our furniture. Even though some of it was fairly cheap pressboard, they treated each piece with the same diligence and care as the antique pieces. Floors and walls were unscratched and the only tiny, tiny ding on a piece of furniture was a complete accident -- just one of those things that sometimes happen and nobody's fault whatsoever. Even though our new home has a very narrow staircase with a tight turn, they didn't leave a single mark anywhere. Tom and the crew communicated with us throughout the day about where they were in the job and any questions or needs they had. Having moved more than twenty times in my life and worked with a dozen different movers, I can easily say this was the smoothest, easiest move ever. We'll definitely use Vanguard the next time we move and would certainly recommend them to any friend, family, or stranger.

Vanguard moved my furniture in a local move. Cleaning out my mother's condo--they took boxes of books and other household items to a local charity to donate. Friendly staff, great service.

They packed delicate items without proper wrapping which ruined heirloom items. They were thrown in boxes. There were a large amount of damaged items due to a sloppy package job. It was careless and irresponsible packing. The move was fine but when I unpacked my items I was heartbroken.

They showed up at exactly the right time. 9:30 am. I was told travel time would be included in the cost. I was billed from 9 am on which came to $50.00 (1/2 hour @ $100.00) to travel 3.1 miles. Two young men and a large 24 foot truck was used for the move. They gouged me for 19 1/2 hours. The labor portion should have only been 12 hours. A previous move to the same location took 3 men 2 1/2 hours or 7 1/2 total hours. They also billed me 40 minutes for their return trip home that was exactly 3.6 miles. I notified them twice that there were beautiful hardwood floors in my new home. They put drop clothes down and did a good job except a 14 1 /2 inch gouge that is 1/2 inch wide and almost 1/2 inch deep. My girlfriend noticed the next morning and I call Vanguard on the 23rd to notify them. I took pictures and showed them in person a couple days later since my cable was down. I was told to get an estimate which I did.. I called a number of times about it and was told the foreman had to be questioned. FORTY days after they were notified they questioned the foreman. He couldn't remember causing that type of damage. Thus they deny any responsibility. I have asked to speak to the owner or co-owner directly. Again requests to speak to the owner...have gone unanswered. I would have liked that foreman and company owner to at least look at the damage. It was impossible to have happened any other way.

Comments and quot; We would get done a lot faster if you helped out and quot; from the young worker. I have severe spinal stenosis and can lift almost nothing. I was already in severe pain from packing above and beyond the pain I'm in 24/7.

I, like many people, am going through one of the most stressful times in anyone's life. We don't need this. Don't get gouged in your wallet or property.

Vanguard moved our furniture from Cape May Point NJ to Yarmouthport MA and stored it in their warehouse for approximately 2 weeks. They kept their word on every promise they made and did it in a very professional manner.Their workers were very carefull and pleasant to work with. I would highly recommend them on any move large or small. Outstanding job.

They are just great. The movers are very courteous about my furniture and not breaking things. They come to do it in a certain way and they do it. They are very punctual and they are excellent. Their punctuality is awesome and they are very professional.

The experience with them was terrible. It's a small company. He promised that four guys would come out, but only three came. Two of them could carry, and one of them couldn't. The job took longer than expected, and it was an inefficient setup. They broke a lot of my furniture. I wouldn't recommend them at all. They were friendly and professional, but we had big, expensive furniture. When we moved there, there were no problems with our furniture. They ruined our furniture with scratches and dings. They have done the most damage to our furniture ever during a move, and this was the shortest move. They had younger people with no experience at all.

They quoted me a price which was accurate. They arrived on time for the move. Everything went smoothly.
