Old Time Tree Cutter

We hired Old Time Tree Cutter to take down two large and two small trees, to remove one large tree that came down in a recent storm (missed the house, fortunately), and to prune six trees filled with deadwood. David came as scheduled, did a very professional job, and left our yard in pristine condition. He and Jerry, his assistant, spent around four hours in our yard taking care of our trees. I asked him to dump the chipped material (about 3 to 4 cubic yards) by the end of our driveway. They did and they made sure the driveway was spotless. I highly recommend Old Time Tree Cutter for both their professionalism and for their price! We used them about three years ago and we'll use them again whenever we need tree work. You should too!

A tall oak fell into the back yard on a mildly windy day. Dave Brown did good work for me in the past and he did so again. He replied to my request quickly, did the work when he said he would, and charged me his quoted price. Nowadays, I'm wary of a hand-shake agreement, but not with Dave. He's a professional.

Dave did a great job and the yard looks great.

Responded to my inquiry quickly, and came out the same day to give an estimate.  Came back a few days later to do the work as scheduled.  Did a thorough job, at a reasonable price.

How it went was superb. I called Old Time Tree Cutter on the 29th of March and spoke with Dave Brown about what I needed done. He told me that he had a appointment in another town but should be able to make it to our home by 6 to give us an estimate. At 5:55pm Dave was in our driveway. We spoke for ten minutes and he gave me an estimate of $950.00. I have had work done before by tree cutters and I was expecting more. We shook hands and told me he would be out the following week. Dave called me that evening and said he would be able to do it the next day if it was ok with us and would be out at 7:30 in the am. We agreed and at 7:25 am he was in the driveway. By the end of the day all 4 trees were down. All the logs, branches were chipped up the twigs and pine needles were raked and taken away. The day started out dry but the afternoon produced a steady rainfall so he was unable to grind the stumps down but said he would be back at 8:00 AM the next day. Sure as you can set a clock, there was Dave in the driveway at 7:55 AM. He not only ground down the trunks but the huge roots were removed. He was also kind enough to remove some winter branches that were in our yard.

I apologize about the run on but Old Time Tree Cutter (Dave Brown) is worth every word and cent. We would not think to use anyone else.

I contacted Old Time Tree Cutter with an e-mail directly from Angie's List. I received a prompt reply and free estimate. David Brown was courteous, low-key, and did not attempt to sell me anything more than what I was requesting be done.
There are many tall, old, beautiful trees on my property and it pained me to ask that one be taken down. It was a tall red oak that swayed like crazy in high winds. Since several trees in my neighborhood have fallen down, I worried that this one could land on my home one day. Maybe it wouldn't, but it was just too stressful watching it during hurricanes and serious snow storms in my area. Trees and lots of brush had spent 16 years spreading their branches into my small lawn and it was time to remove what had become too much of a canopy blocking the blue sky. Several branches had also grown around lines coming in from the street to my house.
David and a partner arrived at 7:30 am and started pruning. They didn't turn on the chipper until later in the morning, which I thought was considerate. Mr. Brown worked slowly and carefully, giving me the impression he was approaching the job thoughtfully. I appreciated this as I watched him climb the oak and take it down piece by piece. I had no worries that he was going to make a wrong move and fall. Nor did I worry about tree limbs falling any which way and damaging property. The work was done quietly (no radio blasting!) and the property raked clean. I was happy with the results.

The owner, David Brown, came to my home to view the work with me. He came at a convenient time, spoke professionally about my options and spent as much time as was necessary to answer all my questions. I received a written, detailed estimate. When I called to schedule the work Mr. Brown was very accommodating. On the day of the job he arrived on time and went straight to work with his helper. Mr. Brown did exactly what his estimate stated plus an excellent clean up job afterwards. Throughout the work day I observed Mr. Brown was very safety conscious and all his equipment appeared to be well maintained. I absolutely recommend him and will call him again when the need arises.
