In a word, outstanding! We cannot believe how great the project came out, and it is hard to believe now what the original space looked like. We hired Keith Farrell after having been given his name by an architect who drew up the master plans. We had interviewed three contractors, all of whom came highly recommended, by the architect. My wife and I both agreed that Keith was the guy for the job after he came to the house, went over the architect's plans, in detail, and explained what he thought was the best way to proceed. Before we made our selection, we asked for and received numerous client references. I followed up with every one of them, by email, asking many questions concerning the quality of his work, the timeliness, and responsiveness, of Keith, his employees, and all their sub-contractors, and how well they maintained the house, i.e. dust, clean up, etc. Every reference responded extremely positively, most stating that they had hired him several times, and all stating that they would hire him again. One offered to let us come to their house to see the finished work, and one compared his finished bathroom to a high end hotel room. Several mentioned his superior project management skills as being a major asset, as this project involved many moving parts (carpenters, electricians, plumbers, tile installers), and many different vendors supplying materials, and fixtures. This project was a total re-do, of about 1300 sq. ft, including a total renovation/reconfiguration of the master bath, and the addition of a new second bath. It also involved adding three walk in closets, installing hardwood floors throughout, painting all walls and ceilings, and replacing two ceilings with hardwood, a fabulous touch, that Keith suggested. There were also some high end carpentry finishes that look terrific. Every room they touched looks like it belongs in a magazine. Keith and his crew were here five days a week, every week, until the job was finished. All of his workers, and all of his sub-contractors, were of the highest quality. During the project, a near catastrophe arose, when it was discovered that what appeared to be a minor dining room ceiling leak, that was not part of the original project, was actually a major skylight leak, that had caused significant hidden structural damage, apparently over many years. The skylight was giant: 8' x 19', and it was November. Keith and his crew pivoted from the renovation, and devoted 3 solid weeks, and some weekends, to removing the skylight, removing and repairing a ton of underlying rotted wood, re-doing our entire dining room (walls, ceiling), and getting the roof repaired. The rot affected 4-5 different walls, in different rooms, on different floors, as well as two different sections of roof. The weather was unseasonably cold, and we had an early season snow storm, but they made sure that the roof was sealed tight every night.
