Lacroix Heating & Cooling

I found Wes LaCroix (the owner) through a friend who used him for an oil-to-gas conversion and was very satisfied with his service and price. I called Wes because I was worried about a cracked combustion chamber in our old oil furnace, and also wanted a tune-up. This was after calling about 5 other oil companies who wanted to sign me up as a customer and sell me a service contract - I heard a lot of "we only service our oil customers, so you can sign up and we'll come look at it." This included Concord Oil, Genove Oil/Air, Bursaw Oil, etc. I like to buy my oil as-needed from less expensive places, so not interested in auto delivery and all the gimmicks. In any case, I called Wes on a Monday and he came on Wednesday for the tune-up. He (GASP) arrived on time, which I rarely see in the plumbing/heating/AC world. He did a thorough job and seemed knowledgeable about the furnace and how to maintain an older system. His tune-up took about an hour, and when I peeked in the room he had half the burner disassembled and was replacing some items. All was fair, paid $150, no up-sell attempted. Seems to be an honest and trustworthy guy, professional and down to earth. Not someone you need to worry about being alone in the house. He's been at this for about 3 years now, so relatively new to the business - hopefully he won't end up getting scooped by one of the local oil companies. Regarding the cracked combustion chamber, Wes didn't push me to repair the system, and was fair about saying it could be just fine but might be safer if we replaced it. He is getting back to me with a quote on the repair. I look forward to working with him again.
