HORRIBLE!! See Below - We had a brand new $9000 Furnace and Water Heater installed in our Worcester home that we paid in full 2 days ago that was recommended by this company. It has broken 3 times now in the first 48 hours. On top of that it's winter with no heat and we have a 4-month-old baby!! Waking up at 6 A.M to a house that is 50 degrees is beyond unacceptable! Let's go down this fun course of events, because we have a very strong feeling it is not the last of these great times. • Day 1 – 3 hours after install and the crew has left our basement starts filling with water. Their tech discovers after walking into our house and jokingly saying “I hear you have a new pool” finds it was pressurized improperly and has to readjust it so it would stop “burping” water. Great, oh and I had to make the suggestion on turning the furnace off to see if the pressure is off, do I know anything about furnaces ...NO, was this guy about to leave without doing anything…. YES! • Night 1 – We wake up to a freezing house while our 4-month-old baby is crying to a non-working furnace and zero heat. Oh, by the way it is 17 degrees out. We call the emergency line again and they send a tech that takes an hour and a half to get here and he gets to work. He is not sure what it is but replaces our oil tank filter and what he says is a “bad nozzle”. He says, “these can sit at the factory for a while and they can go bad”, wow glad they are using “NEW PARTS” on our “NEW $9000 furnace”? It starts running and we are now a bit paranoid and worried about what could be next since we hear heat during the winter is important, especially for keeping a 4-month-old baby warm. Oh, and I had to miss half a day of work because of this. • Day 2 – I go to my job in Rhode Island and at almost 12 P.M on the dot my wife calls me extremely mad that once again the furnace is not running and the screen on this “New Furnace” say “power fault”. They are now sending their “Head tech” to check it out and I have to leave work early and miss almost a full day. So, are the other techs the garbage techs they sent before?? I will continue this story since I am sure this is not the last of this winter fun.

I find them to be very good as well, very responsive. I use them regularly. They deliver oil on a regular basis. I had an oil delivery 2 weeks ago. The service they provide is also on my furnace. I have a service contract with them. They come out and service it annually and if I have a problem anytime, they also come out. They have an excellent response. They are tied up with another company so I get a discount on the cost of oil.

I was assinged CK Smith as my oil provider when I signed on for Mass Energy. When I set up my service plan with them, they came out for my annual maintenance, they found that though the previous oil company said everything was fine, there was a large crack in the combustion chamber of my boiler. Both the technicians that came out (to perform routine maintenance, and to repair the cracked boiler) were very thorough, and explained everything they were doing to me and showed me how to take care of the boiler (as I had never had one before). I think their service is top knotch.
My only compliant is that though I have two oil tanks, that did not get recorded in the record for a while and I was getting frequent deliveries when I was not expecting them.

I had recently bought a home and needed an oil service. I was interested in a service plan but this required that CK Smith inspect and repair deficiencies in the system. They replaced the vent pipe above for 129.00-one could have bought the section at Home Depot for 10 dollars. But their section of pipe plus labor was 129 ? They later told me they needed to change some small fittings, this cost about $140 for a few fittings. I later got a quote for them for a new furnace-it was $800 higher than other quotes and did not include the cost of modifying the ductwork-the others did. The company does great work, very competent and professional but in my personal opinion their pricing is agressive.
