AUTOPRO IMPORT REPAIR

The one-woman office and small shop are busy (for reasons obvious to me now) and it took several hours to get the estimate & work completed, but everyone seemed cheerful, calm & efficient. I saw 4-5 mechanics at work, each one on a separate car, nobody standing around smoking. I had to wait, but rather than sit in their tiny waiting room I walked around the low-rent neighborhood to find a cup of coffee (with wi-fi) and then a nice restaurant for lunch. Altogether a reassuring experience. I will make this place my go-to-mechanic in future.

I go to Autopro when my regular service provider says that something is too specialized for him. This happens regularly since my VW is 13 years old, and things crop up regularly. I had a problem with smoke coming out the exhaust pipe of my diesel VW, which had to do with the air/fuel mixture. It took s awhile to fully diagnose, but eventually Autopro figured it out and fixed it. It was a difficult problem to figure out and to fix. They explained it fully to me (too bad I am not mechanically minded and cannot adequately describe the problem now).

After reading everything about this guy, I was looking for some honest work. I had a squeeking A/C compressor. I had him check it out. He told me it was broken and gave me a 1000 dollar price tag to fix it. I told them I didn't have the money, and sent them a site that shows how to re-run the serp belt to bypass the compressor. Secretary assures me total cost and lt;100. Actual cost, $120 for just the serp belt and installation! $120 to replace a $8 serp belt! Not only that, he kept my old belt. There was nothing wrong with it! I should have done the work myself, after all, I diagnosed the problem for him and told him how to re-route belt! He seems like a decent guy, but he's not the best mechanic I've encountered.

They are very reasonable. He just knows more than most technicians. It seems to be like there is never more than one thing done. He gets right to it. He has great diagnostics. I sent other people there and they said the same thing. He emailed after I told him the problem over the phone and told me about the part. He is just very good.
