Richard Black Plumbing Inc

An employee of Richard Black Plumbing attempted to install a new drain in pedestal sink. He had trouble getting the old drain out. After he got the old pipe out he had a great deal of trouble getting the new chrome plated copper aligned with the trap behind the sink. He claimed that the pipe was off by 1/4 inch, an explanation that I found peculiar. Mr Black came and said that he would try to order another pipe but couldn't guarantee that it would fit. Instead he strongly suggested installation of a plastic flexible pipe. Mr Black called the next day to say that he had ordered a new metal connector pipe but that it wouldn’t be in until the following day and only then would he know if it really would fit. He again recommended  the flexible plastic pipe. After his call, I looked up the flexible plastic pipe on the web and found that it is not approved by the building code because it does not have a smooth interior surface. Therefore it collects debris and clogs frequently. I called Richard Black back and told him that it was not approved by the code. He said:" Why don’t you get someone else to finish the job. I don’t want to do business with you."
