After getting around the hiccup of a HomeAdvisor representative canceling my original appointment, the rest of the experience was great. The crew came out and surveyed everything I needed dismantled and taken away and provided me with an estimate. The estimate was slightly more than I wanted to spend so I limited what they would take but at the end the took away a little more scraps than I thought the would, which made the cost a bit more bearable. The piece of mind knowing that my “junk” has been removed makes the higher than desired cost all worth it.

Project Scraps were professional from the beginning process to the end.

We scheduled with Project Scraps FOUR times. First time they rescheduled due to a truck problem for the following day. The following day they were a no-show and their helpful receptionist was unable to contact their driver. Finally they rescheduled for Monday. Sunday they texted to reschedule again because apparently Monday was full. Their last rescheduled time was supposed to be this morning. Again they did not show or call despite confirmation and apology for the multiple problems; their v/m box is full and no one responded my text. They only get a .5 because the receptionist was supportive (but ultimately unable to get results). Obviously a terrible customer service experience.

Your initial contact with Customer service will be phenomenal. I interacted with a gentleman named Aaron. I told him I needed a quote as I was on a tight budget for this project. He insured me a range of $475 -$525. I said this sounds good and booked. The dumpster arrived as scheduled. I had 3 rooms to clear out (typical room stuff a dresser, mattress, books/magazines etc). I loaded the dumpster myself with everything falling well below the - Max Fill - line. Dumpster was picked up and for my first time renting a dumpster (minus the $100 city permit fee) I felt everything went pretty smooth.....UNTIL I receive an invoice for $660. They ended up charging the max $525 quote plus an extra $135 as a surplus tonnage charge! There is NO WAY I had surplus tonage. Furthermore, there is no where on the site that describes or even mentions weight or says what happens if you exceed a certain amount of weight. This was a total shock. I asked if I was suppose to measure each item before I placed it in the dumpster? The language on the site says No Hidden fees this is VERY, VERY misleading. Again, the initial contact is great but are you in for a surprise after that dumpster leaves. RENTER BEWARE
