NOEL DANAHER CONSTRUCTION

I had a small leak  that I thought was caused by a problem in the chimney.  The mason that had been recommended was too busy but referred me to Noel Danaher.  Noel came over to take a look.  He said the chimney looks good but the flashing where the flat rubber roof meets the chimney was suspect.  He mentioned he could send two workers over for an afternoon to fix it, and it would cost $500.  I thought that was high but wasn?t sure how finicky the job would be so agreed.  Noel and a helper came the next day, and with two tubes of goop fixed the flashing.  They found a small hole in the rubber at the corner of the chimney and caulked that.   This took less than half an hour.
The leak is probably fixed ? will need more rain to be sure ? but I was disappointed that he charged me the full $500.  When I asked why he said he wasn?t only charging for the time spent on my job, but also travel time, truck maintenance, etc.  When I asked about an Angie?s List discount he scoffed and said he doesn?t give discounts.  Since I?d agreed to the price previously I paid, but am disappointed I let myself be overcharged this way.  My fault, it has been a while since a contractor or tradesman treated me unfairly, so I wasn?t careful enough.  I should not have agreed to have him do the work.
Note that the information about his business is inaccurate.   He does charge for travel time, and you can ask about an Angie's List discount but the answer is no.  I would not recommend him for small jobs since his base price is so high.

This man's work was done perfectly. We got what we were looking for. He also worked well with the other contractors contracted. We were pleased with the finished project.
