M & S AUTO REPAIR

I just moved to Woburn and was looking for a new mechanic because I found out I needed new brakes. I looked on Angie's list and found M&S just down the street from me. I called and left a message and Mark called me back first thing in the morning. I lucked out that they had a light day so I was able to get my car in and the job done in just a few hours for a really good price. They even gave me a ride home. Mark and his tech Ryan were extremely friendly. I was very happy with my experience and will definitely have my car serviced there in the future.

Good follow up

M&S auto had been recommended by a friend, so I looked them up and sure enough they were on Angie's top rated list. I dropped my car off at 8 this morning and they were done by 11. Also I was quoted a price from another place that was way more then what I paid M&S. All round impressed with their service and timely work for a great price!

Great. Work is done right and price is reasonable.

The tech Mark and Ryan really know there stuff. I will service my car's, van's with them anytime. I just have to make the appointment.

It turns out I just had a water bottle stuck underneath my car! But the workers at M&S Auto kindly removed it for me without charge.

The mechanic first did the diagnostics, ordered the part from dealership, but refused to show me the receipt or price. He later admitted he marked up the price 60% in addition to $96/H labor charge. He later lowered the price a little bit, but I still feel ripped off. After the repair, the car shakes but it did not happen before. The mechanic took it for a drive and it settled a little. He should have taken it for a drive before giving the car to me. I did repair work in other shops and they would show me the price from supplier on computer first and the receipt when the part arrives. I could have done the same work at Toyota dealership and pay lower price on the part. Why do it here and pay more? The labor cost is already pretty high, adding another 60% to part price is ridiculous. This is a small shop and not many customers. The owner was on vacation. I doubt the mechanic has much experience. It is my first visit at M&S Auto Repair and will not go back again. I don’t recommend it.

All of these repairs went great and I can't say enough about what a great mechanic Mark is. He's honest and his prices are fair. He tells you other things that need fixing and they aren't made up things. A+++

They were great! Mark is always really professional and honest and I feel like I can trust him. He never does anything without asking first and could have charged for things I did not need but didn't do that (even though he knows that I know nothing about cars).
I will definitely be going to him for all of my car needs.

Mark was very knowledgeable about my Mazda CX 9, and he pointed out a problem that I didn't even notice.  I really felt comfortable taking my car there for service.  He even lent me his personal truck in order to get to work, and it was very much appreciated.  In the future, I will definitely take my car back for service.  He charged a fair price, fixed it quickly, very knowledgeable, and a pleasure to talk with.  Thanks Mark and will see you again!!

Since I moved to Wilmington last year, I have been been dreading finding a new mechanic. It took me a year, but I think found exactly what I am looking for. After talking to Mark for a couple of minutes I was immediately at ease, and felt like my car was in really good hands. Mark explained to me how they diagnose, find, and fix problems with the AC. Mark really impressed me with his knowledge of the AC in my car's make and model. He called me after diagnosing the problem, something had punctured my AC condenser. I knew immediately that would require a new condenser, and would be expensive. I was expecting to get an estimate of $800 to $1,000, so when he gave me an estimate of only $580, I was surprised, and honestly I thought his estimate might be a little low. We talked about some different options for parts, OEM vs. after market. He was interested in saving me money and he said he had good luck with the aftermarket condenser and didn't think it was worth the money to buy the part from Honda. He didn't recommend any work that wasn't necessary. When he was was done he said it ended up going quicker than he thought, and he charged me even less than estimated. I got out of there for $510!

Mark fixed all three problems - calling me before doing any work with an estimate and details of all work to be performed.  He even warned me that one of the things may get expensive and asked if I still wanted to have it checked.  Even though he was busy he looked at the car the same day I brought it in.  When I picked up the car he explained everything he'd done.    He even called to follow up on a cold day a week later, to make sure I had heat.  
Would absolutely recommend M & S for car issues!

Mark was supremely helpful from the get-go. Although I was not able to get in touch with him the day I called, after leaving a lengthy voicemail, Mark called back the next day and told me to swing by anytime. 
Mark and Ryan are two very easy going individuals, but don't let that fool you ? they are very serious professionals and they are very good at what they do. After replacing the tires on the car (which they did cheaper than any other shop quoted), they both took the time to diagnose a long standing problem of a power steering pump that would seize every time the steering wheel hit it's extreme edge. Rather than telling me the same thing over and over, "to replace the pump all together," which I had heard at the Subaru shop, another local shop, and even at another Subaru in Florida, they took the time and patience to figure out the problem and fix it! Best of all, it was such a simple fix, he didn't charge me for it. 
I am happy to say that I have found my local shop for my WRX. Being an avid car enthusiast, it's great to have someone I can fully trust at only a stone's throw from my own home!

This man took such good care of my son. He gave him a ride to the bus stop and did good work on the car. He worked quickly and provided absolutely wonderful service.  He is trustworthy and good hearted.

We had some of our service done by them and used another provider for other services .Because of this company we got everything working great again at almost half the price. I found these people on Angie's list, and it paid for our Angies List membership several times over, in one visit.  ...... Big Thumbs Up!

I called Mark on 5/14/14 and scheduled an appointment to take a look at my faulty AC. I dropped my truck off at 7 the next morning. Around 1:30PM he gave me a call to tell me his diagnosis was complete. Mark found that the AC system had no coolant in it. He performed a leak test and found nothing. He filled up the system with the proper coolant. I was told to return free of charge to double check the system for any leaks next week. I will be following up with him next week. Mark is very friendly and very responsive. He does quick and efficient work for a fair price. I would definitely use his services again if needed.

I have finally found a repair shop that I feel comfortable going to.  You can not go wrong here!!!
I started out just wanting to try M&S because I was sick of using dealership shops that are just trying to gouge money out of me with unnecessary repairs every time one of our vehicles are in.  Add to that the fact their prices are outrageous and keep going up.  I called M&S and set the appointment up for the next day to get the rear brakes in my wife's van replaced.  The call was very cordial and inviting.  The next day when I came in I was met by the owner Mike who is just such a great guy.  He was so personable and made it seem I was the only thing he had to worry about when he talked to me.  He talked about his shop and his experience to make me comfortable with him working on the vehicle.  I was also impressed at all the questions he asked rather than just taking the keys and telling me he would call me, as you would get in the dealer.  I knew later that day he was legit when he called and told me what needed to be done and was recommending ways for me to save money.  I had him do the repair as he recommended and then he brought my vehicle back out to me.  He recognized there was an issue with the front brakes that was not detected during the inital look because the back brakes were so bad.  He took it right back in and fixed the problem in front and it was ready later in the afternoon.  At that time I decided my truck that had been waiting on repair would be brought in to Mark to look at too.  He diagnosed the check engine light and found my battery was faulty since it was the original battery 7 years old.  He replaced the battery with the one I asked for.  Next he looked at my brakes that I knew were a problem since the front pads were almost wore down.  He found that since my truck had sat a lot over the winter, almost 4 months, that rust had set in on the rotors.  A quick cut got them back in shape and now my truck runs great again too.  
Mark made sure that I was satisfied with everything and talked me through everything in detail to include making sure I was set for the inspection sticker that I need.  The quality of the work, the personal touch the shop provides, and the fair pricing will keep me coming back as a regular customer and better yet I can support a local business that appreciates the customers and not their money.

My car didn't start when leaving my dentist office. How the car towed to M & S auto. Even though they had plenty of work to do, the fixed my car so I could make it to work on time. Great Service.

That went very well.  We made an appointment, we were there and he took us right away.  He did the job, the car was clean, the job was clean and took the time to explain what was wrong and why it was wrong and how it will affect the performance of the car.  Afterwards when it was done, he went into detail exactly what it was and how it will affect the performance once more to make sure that we understood and we are satisfied with the total process and with his being able to give quality service that he provides.  He provides excellent service.  

I have been in search for a good and reasonable auto repair service thats a one stop shop for all issues. I had the check engine light on my 03 Camry, Mark was detailed in explaining what needed to be fixed. He was frank regarding the condition of the car and suggests what makes most economical sense. I am very happy with their service. They seem to run an honest and fair business. I sure would recommend them to anybody who is reading this review, you can be sure that you are not misguided to spend more than what is necessary, and also have the confidence that they recommend and suggest whats best for the car.

My 2002 Honda CR-V was in need of new brakes, and I knew it was going to probably be an expensive job.  It's an older model - I fully expected that the car would need both front and rear brake pads, shoes and rotors - maybe more.  I'm new in town, so I'd called around to quite a few shops asking for a quick estimate on how much it might cost to do the whole job.  Some places quoted me a quick rate, some told me a baseline and explained it'd be higher if I needed calipers and other extras.  No one really impressed me.
In addition, because I'm a woman, I'm always wary of auto mechanics.  I've been taken for a "ride" way too many times by mechanics who quickly discern I don't know much about cars and inflate my "required" repairs.  I've been searching for a trustworthy, thorough and gifted mechanic for some time.
I searched Angie's List and found M&S Auto Repair.  I called for an estimate, and the gentleman I talked with took the time to explain that they could not give me a good estimate over the phone, but if I could bring it in, they would examine it and give me a more accurate price quote.  He told me that I may not need both the front and back brakes done, and even if I did, there were options they could present to me to help keep the repair cost within reason.  Between his willingness to talk with me more, his obvious knowledge about auto repairs, his honesty in stating I may not need to spend as much as I suspected and the glowing reviews here on Angie's List, I scheduled an appointment.
All the glowing reviews are correct.   Mark and his crew are fantastic.  I can't say enough about this shop.  Mark himself greeted us when we brought the car in.  He told me he would call with an estimate within an hour - and he did.  He told me all I needed was the rear brake rotors and pads. That's half the cost I'd expected.  He also said that they'd noticed that the alignment was off and would I like to have it adjusted?  Yes, absolutely.  The car was ready quickly, and Mark was happy to talk with me about it when I picked it up.  He even advised me some on how to keep the car running well now that it's getting older.  Amazing service, quality work, and going the extra mile for customers.  I'm thrilled I found this shop.  I've found my regular mechanic. 

Driving home late at night, hit a pot hole and damaged the front end suspension. My husband took it to the dealer and the price made us think we should trade it in. Then he went on Angie's List and called Mark and they discussed the situation. My husband took the car over for an estimate and then left it for repair. They gave him a ride home. He went to his job. In the evening, We drove over and picked up the car and both I and the car have been happy campers ever since!
