Good quality work and honest people. Henry and his crews did an excellent job on my house. It turned out beautifully. They work very hard and are very detail oriented. They hand brushed the whole house. My house had a dark color and the new color is  light blue, it would be very easy to see if the job is not done at high quality. I think Henry and his crew take pride in providing good quality service for their customers. His crew also said he is a very honest guy and most of them working for him for many years.
It was a very pleasant experience throughout the project with Henry. I think he runs the best house painting business by treating his customer with honesty and his employee with respect.

Henry and his crew of experienced painters did an excellent job at a very reasonable price. Prep was by lots of scraping and some sanding, paint was one coat on main walls and two on much of trim.  4 different colors were used. They were punctual, hard working, and professional.  I was comfortable giving them access to my garage and house while I was away as the crew are local people who have worked with the Kuhns for many years.  I appreciated Henry's help in selecting some of the paints; he was not aggresive in his preferences but did suggest colors and paint types based on his long experience in the business. When I changed my mind on the color of one trim section he had it repainted without a fuss and at minimal cost.
    Henry also has an excellent carpenter colleague who often preceeds him on the job and makes sure all the wood is good and paintable- this was much needed on my house.

 The house had been painted many times in the forty years we have lived in it, and it had always soon begun peeling again.  This time I decided to have it stripped.  Through another contractor's recommendation I contacted Henry Kuhn (I also got one other stripping bid and two without stripping).  Kuhn uses the "Paint Shaver", an electrical hand device that removes the paint mechanically and collects the shavings automatically in a shop-vac type container.  The work required elaborate EPA precautions since most of the house had lead paint on it.
Mr. Kuhn and his crew worked completely to our satisfaction and with great professionalism.  He and his three men did the job in 10 days with no breaks except for some rain, working in extremely hot weather.  They arrived and started promptly at 8 am and finished at 4 pm.  Henry's men worked hard all day (with no music!) and were polite and cheerful in every interaction with my wife and me, which must reflect at least in part their appreciation of Mr. Kuhn's clear and friendly leadership and his organizational skill.  Henry always responded to my requests and questions and gave me the strong impression of wanting to do the best possible job.  In inspecting the work every day I think there was only one time when I found something might have been overlooked, and then Henry fixed it right away.
Our house has older, very good quality, shutters, though some needed work, and some shutters on the 1981 addition, of recent-type quality, had deteriorated and had to be replaced.  One especially nice thing about working with Mr. Kuhn was that he handled all this smoothly and without problems for us, and at  reasonable cost.  Also, he referred me to a carpenter that he has long worked with, who replaced some pieces of siding and trim under Henry's direction and again at reasonable cost.
The house looks excellent and my wife and I look forward to going, as Henry judges, at least 10 or 12 years before needing painting.  I give Kuhn Painting & Decorating my highest recommendation for a beautiful and solid job and an enjoyable homeowner's experience!
