Our kitchen renovation was the second home renovation project we did with John A. Buttaro. After we completed our first home project (a great room renovation) with Buttaro, we have never again looked for a contractor when needing home repairs done. Without reservation, I highly recommend this contractor. In May 2008 we started our kitchen renovation. Unlike the stories we had been told, our renovation was smooth and completed on time. And most of important, we love the outcome. Our kitchen is contemporary with lots of light, stainless steel (appliances and large center island) and beautiful wood floors. We designed our kitchen to be an attractive, yet functional space, to enjoy as a family as well as when entertaining. Before even beginning the project, the crew sealed off the rest of my house, for which I was grateful. A kitchen renovation displaces the heart of the house. Having clean, dust and dirt free rooms in my house during the renovation kept me sane and my children separated from the construction site. In the basement, the crew repurposed some of the original cabinets and appliances to create a space to prepare and cook real meals during the renovation. Our old kitchen was large, but poorly designed; we lacked counter and cabinet space. Our first goal was to move an existing structural support and column to accommodate the new design, which consists of an oversized island with a cook top, warming oven, hood and lots of cabinets under the stainless steel countertop. The countertop was custom made by Buttaro and cost much less than granite. In addition to being attractive, it is a great surface for prepping, cooking, baking, and entertaining. With the island the center of our kitchen, the rest of the planning fell into place. We put in a radiant floor, Pella windows, frameless cabinets (not the easiest to install), and at the last minute decided to go for central A/C, thank goodness! John worked with all the vendors (his and ours). Buttaro's team did an amazing job. They were prompt each morning, courteous, and professional. I have two small children and they looked forward to seeing the crew each day. The crew was very helpful when we needed guidance to make decisions. John himself answered his mobile and visited the job site daily. I have heard nightmares about contractors disappearing during a project while they juggle other projects. Ours was completed in agreed upon time. Buttaro is reliable, responsible, professional and honest and his workmanship is excellent. Look no further.
