The owners thoroughly evaluated our needs and prepared a couple of proposals/estimates for our consideration noting the pros and cons of each. We hired the company who then provided us with a detailed timeline for the project. The owners as well as their workers were very pleasant, professional and courteous.

Everything went very well. He showed up on time to do the work and the other people he sent to do the work also did a great job.

Jeff from Evolution Ironworks came promptly to discuss the addition of a wrought iron gate to my condo entrance. He sketched out a design on paper and gave me an estimate and lead time. His rates were competitive, and I gave him the go-ahead. He came over for final measuring and promised a two week lead time.

Just about two weeks later he called to arrange an installation time. His installer ran over on another job and didn't make it (he did ask to come over late which wasn't possible). So, we rescheduled, and the installers arrived. They were courteous, neat and did a great job of installation. The gate looks great and fits the building perfectly - it was even better than originally designed.

Our house was broken-into and we quickly decided to have iron window shields on the lower levels of our house in Boston. I called 5-6 iron workers and Evolution was the first to respond and provided the lowest estimate. Angel, the owner (i think), came out the next day and did sketches of the kind of work he would do. He was busy and it took about 10 days to make the custom shields, but he was very upfront on the lead time and actually beat his original estimate. He came out with his team installed them in less than two hours. They used power from their truck so we didn't need to worry about running cords through windows, etc. The shields in front of the house needed to meet historical requirements and we need to be able to open one from the inside for fire code reasons. The the workmanship was excellent; they are very sturdy/secure and look better than expected - and better than any of our neighbors. Overall it was a very positive experience and it gave our family a great deal of piece of mind.

Despite a few glitches in scheduling a visit to assess the job at my home, and then again when they wanted to schedule the work, Evolution Iron Works did an excellent job. The bill came in as the estimate had outlined, and the work was done well and ahead of schedule. I highly recommend them for ironwork jobs (mine was a private residence-they also do larger jobs involving fire-escapes etc.).
