They are good. I have not really used them in a while. I have gotten a couple of estimates from them. I got an estimate from them about a year ago, but I haven't really used them for two or three years. They are very knowledgeable, if anything I wanted them to prune a little more instead of the less, but they probably know better than me.
· worked with me to schedule the injections at my convenience;
· comprehensively explained my options to me, in order to ensure I had the most cost effective option (this is a
difficult financial time for us); and
· telephoned personally to confirm two days before the appointment.
The work was done by a talented and knowledgeable man, Jason Minaker. Jason was careful and thorough. He took the time to thoughtfully answer all of my questions. I had a lot of questions because I found the whole system of tree injection to be so interesting. Not to mention, that my neighbors were appreciative not to have spray in their backyards.
Jason, also, made some great suggestions for some tree pruning which I plan to do (with Boston tree preservation) this winter.
Last, I wanted to speak with with the owner of Boston Tree Preservation, Peter Wild. Coincidentally, it turns out that Peter Wild is also the inventor of the Arborjet products. I was surprised by this because I had done some earlier research around products available for injection and had called Arborjet with questions about their products. After talking with them, I decided that the arborist I chose would have to use Arborjet products on my trees. I had no idea they were sister companies. Peter was a delight to speak with about my experience. He has a heartfelt commitment to preserving trees in the best way possible.
So, in summary to all my fellow Angie List Members, if you care about your trees, this tree team is the best!!!!!!
They send a reminder to us in December or early January yearly, and offer a 10% discount if we pay in advance. They leave a note for us after the spraying. Very professional and reasonable.
We asked them to come back and look at our Magnolia Tree and prune some branches, especially those that were near our house. We left a message on the phone and got a quick email the next day from an assistant. We made an appointment for someone to come out and then give us an estimate. He came within a few days and advised us that the tree was in irreversible decline. He explained why in complete detail and recommended that we replace it with one of several trees which would thrive. His company does not plant new trees, but we have hired them to remove the tree and grind a stump in the next few weeks.
I will have them come back in the late Fall after plants are dormant to trim my roses and vines. They said trees can be trimmed any time of year, but the roses and vines do better if they are dormant.
"The member requested a quote for 2 Winter Moth applications in 2010. She was also sent a quote for the same applications in 2011. The contract offered a pre-payment discount which she personally signed, paid and returned. We did the first of two applications on April 26, 2011. She called us to say there had been a mistake and we weren’t the company she hired. We informed her that we had a signed and paid contract by her. We did offer to refund the amount of the 2nd application since it hadn’t been done. She wanted a refund on the first service that had been performed. It is not our policy to refund dollars on confirmed, paid, and performed services. We apologized for the confusion and communicated promptly when she called our office. We felt we had closed the issue in a polite professional manner. It is concerning when people feel the need to utilize a venue like Angie’s List to libel a company with a great long-standing reputation, especially when we have done nothing wrong. She was in error."
