I have been under contract with Anderson Oil Service for three years and have always been pleased with the service I receive and today was no exception.  I called this morning to ask when our next oil delivery is scheduled for, explaining to her that we had under a 1/4 of a tank. She told me that we were on the schedule for next week and that we would be fine. I was perfectly satisfied with her answer.  To my surprise, the oil person was just here, making a delivery, the same day that I called.  That is great service.

Our experience, thus far, has been wonderful.  They are always available to answer questions and we didn't have any issues with delivery over the winter. Their prices are very reasonable either at or below the average for oil in our area.

Anderson was very good as just an Oil Delivery company.  The first year I used them they included a 1yr service contract at no charge which was nice.  Of course being an almost brand new boiler I never had to call for service.  The problems started in year two when I declined to take them up on a service contract.  
My system started having trouble firing and to their credit Anderson had a service person out next day.  The first rep seemed fairly knowledgeable and replaced a couple parts though admitted he wasn't entirely certain this would fix the problem.  A few days later the problem came back.  This time a second service rep came out and he was terrible.  He claimed that several things were wrong with my nearly brand new system and just started changing things out at will.  It was also apparent he had not worked on this type of system before.  Shortly after leaving the whole system overheated which he then claimed was an issue with a faulty overflow tank.
A few days later I noticed that the system was running constantly even when the heat was turned way down.  Anderson sent the same service rep we had trouble with last time and he was convinced the system was probably shot.  Only after I did some trouble shooting and figured out that the heat was leaking out of baseboards even when turned off did he realize it was probably an issue with faulty check valves.  Initially he wanted to replace all 4 check valves but after further trouble shooting by myself it was determined that only 2 were faulty.  
Now he told me that there was no way to just replace the check valve because it was housed within the pump for each zone.  The estimate to replace each pump was $350 for a total of a $700 job.  Given that the cold weather season was nearly passed and I could manually keep the valves closed I opted not to have the job done.
Fast forward to today where I brought in a different company that only does service and they changed out two check valves for a whopping total of $150.  They didn't have to replace the entire pumps and had the job done in 40min.
I had no issues with Anderson for Oil Delivery and their prices are very reasonable but the incompetence of their service personnel is leading me to go in another direction.

They provided a great deal on a new service contract and oil delivery for my 1 year old boiler. So far they are more responsive and cost less than the previous company.

John and his guys were great. John came to the house to inspect our system (we had the home's original boiler from 1954) and quoted me a fair price for boiler replacement. The replacement itself was painless and the installers went above and beyond. Great, great service.

We needed a partial fill of our oil tank as we are in the process of converting over to gas. Anderson Oil Service was the only company we talked to that was wiling to help us. Everyone else wanted us to either get a full tank or get set up with an automatic service. Anderson Oil came out that day. He also took the time to talk to us a little bit about how the system works and how to read the level. This was all new to us.

Overall we've had a very good experience with the company. We don't know other companies' prices from time to time, so we can't compare that. But the service has been good and reliable. The owner, John, is very decent and honest. We recently asked for a quote for an indirect hot water heater, and the guy that came over to give an estimate was on time and professional. It's been very pleasant working with the company.

The contract came with a free 2-year service plan which we had been







fortunate enough not to need.... until today.   Our burner backfired







causing the exhaust pipe to dislodge from the wall and sending exhaust







fumes into our basement.  We called Anderson at 7:00 p.m. and they had a







person at our home within 45 minutes.  He assessed the problem was a







blown transformer and replaced it free of charge that same evening.

We couldn't be happier with the whole service process and everyone involved.  The service guys are fantastic - very punctual, professional, and considerate.  During our annual service, they asked if there was a way out of the house without coming upstairs so that they didn't track anything through the house and didn't bring oil-smelling tools upstairs.  They even asked if it was ok to vacuum in the basement because our kids were sleeping.  Pretty amazing if you ask me!  Not sure why people have given lower ratings for price.  Everyone at the company has been wonderful to work with.  We didn't have oil prior to moving to this house and we have been pleasantly surprised.unexpected

I had nothing but good service from them. Even when my furnace died they were willing to give me referrals for people that could handle my gas conversion. They could have tried to sell me on oil and staying with them but they undersatood our desires and were very helpful.

I have never experienced anything less than a positive and pleasant experience working with Anderson Oil Service.

They are excellent and we really like having them come in. They are always available during emergencies. If you call them they would call you back and come right out even if it's three in the morning. They are great. They are always attentive and have some one on call which is great because we have had a couple of emergencies and they don't charge anything extra for that. We called them on a Sunday as our oil filter needed to be cleaned but they didn't have a part on them but they did what they could to resolve the issue. They came back another day later to clean our filter. They have a yearly plan but we pay $135 a month. They are reasonable and oil is expensive so I would say they are reasonable. We plan to use them next year also.

Very easy to communicate with and always responded promptly. Entire staff (from office to delivery) is friendly, approachable, and professional. Visit from owner in person to create estimate - this was the only company willing to do this before signing a contract. Explained services thoroughly and walked through house to explain oil heating system (new to us). Even though is a smaller company, they have extremely competitive pricing with better service plan than other companies we received estimates from. Had tech visit the house to more thoroughly inspect the system and troubleshoot if any potential problems spotted (non seen). Very happy we chose them.

They were good. They were responsive to the issues with my oil units. I had used their services for a couple of years then. The only reason I left them was because I got a better deal from somebody else since you often need to check the prices of the oil. However, their service was excellent.
