He got the deposit and did some work.  He didn't finish the job.  I keep calling him and he doesn't respond.  The last few weeks his phone number doesn't work anymore.

Horrible, still trying to track him down and bring him to court.

It was time for new gutters and the roof (which was very tight, no leaks) was very old looking and was time for an update. My neighbor was having his roof worked on and I noticed that VSR seemed to be timely and of good quality work, so I asked for an estimate. The estimate was competitive enough for us to go with the contractor and a contract was signed. The next day he put a dumpster in my driveway, but work did not begin for over two weeks. The owner would call and tell us that his guys were set to come and work just about everyday after that, but most of the time no one would show. A job that should take no more than four days, was now a month in and still no where near completion. Joe (the owner) continued to try and get final payment before completion of the project (he even was arguing with my wife in front of neighbors) with the intention of never fully completing the job. In fact we later found out this is exactly what he had done to the neighbor who we met him through in the first place. Last but not least, after the job was finally finished, we come to find out that now our roof is leaking, and the new gutters he installed are not sealed properly. His contract states that he provieds a three year warranty, but I have been unable to secure him to come and fix all his mistakes. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS - This company goes by the name VSR Siding and Roofing as well as VSR Construction, with multiple addresses in order to hide from the clients that try to find him after figuring out he is a fraud and provides shoddy work.

Last fall I discovered one of the skylights was leaking. I called 3 contractors, including VSR Siding & Roofing. Joe Baranowski offered the best price if I paid him in cash. I hired him. After the winter, when snow started to melt and rains started to come down, found skylight still leaking and in a big way now. I went up the roof and discovered that VSR simply put some caulk around the skylight, which of course completely came off and simply did nothing to protect from water. Situation became urgent as it was rainy season and leak was progressing. I called them back. Joe Baranowski came and said that he will send someone to fix it. Next day I noticed there was a little of black stuff along one side, which didn't stop anything. Called them back. After almost a week he finally called back and said he will send someone. That never happened. Had to hire another person to fix the problem. In addition, the final water damage to the ceiling was over $2k. After I filed a small claim, Joe Baranowski agreed to return half of the money I paid him in exchange of me asking Angie's List to remove the name of his company from the Penalty Box, which I did.
