Bob completed two home inspections for us. He was on time and always courteous. He was very helpful in explaining to us about the houses and the observations he had. He seemed very thorough and provided us with detailed report. It was also easy to schedule appointment with him. The first home inspection showed up a lot of problems on the house and we ended up did not purchase the house based on his findings. We'd definitely recommend him to others.

This went realyl well. Bob came to the appointment on time and, walkeed us through the entire inspectiosn. Tols us what he was doing and in the end saved us alot of money! highly reccommend!

This being our first home, we had no idea what to expect from an inspection, or an inspector. Bob was great. We needed an inspection done over the July 4 holiday week and we thought we were never going to find someone. Because he's a sole proprietor, he gets to make his own schedule, and so we were lucky that he was not scheduled that day. He only schedules 1 inspection per day and you will always get him personally.
He was prompt, thorough, and gave good advice without railroading you with his opinions. He also made jokes here and there, which were pretty funny and lightened the mood at an event that can be pretty anxiety-inducing. At the end of the inspection, he went back through the list of issues he found and basically ranked them in order of what he thinks we need to tackle first - which was super helpful.
I was also pleasantly surprised by his price - we had several friends getting inspections done around the same time, and Bob was by far the most competitive for a single family house in a 3/4 acre lot. Given that he drove all the way from Winthrop to Norfolk, he was beyond a great value. Cost wasn't our biggest concern here, but it was a nice bonus!
Our real estate agent had not worked with Bob before, and after Bob had left, our agent remarked that he thought he was very good, which made us feel like we had made a good choice as well.
Since Bob is a sole proprietor, he does handle all the administrative work on his own too, and therefore doesn't have the bells and whistles of a larger firm. His scanner wasn't working the weekend of the inspection, and we needed the report ASAP to meet the contract deadline. His backup plan was to mail us a paper copy of the report, but when we called an explained the urgency, he offered to drive the report to us and leave it in our mailbox (in Brighton. From Winthrop. They are NOT close.) The extra steps he took to meet our need was above and beyond expectation. I'd recommend Bob's services to anyone - the only thing I'd discuss up front is when you need the report by and in exactly what format, so that everyone is on the same page.
