 + -1 moreShe worked with me for 2 hours on a Saturday and I was so encouraged by the process that I invited her back for 2 hours the next day. We really made progress during those 2 days and I have been enjoying the space in my studio much more than I have in years. There is a greater sense of spaciousness and I find it calming. I plan on having her back very soon, and I have no hesitation to recommend her to anyone.
Description of Work: Elaine came to my home and was able to help me transform the space in my kitchen and study. I had too many objects and there was a cluttered feeling to both of those areas. She is very quick to notice things that may not be needed to be visible and could be organized in another location, eg. my refrigerator door had words that are used to make poetry and she suggested that I take them off the refrigerator and put in a container for future use. Immediately my refrigerator looked less cluttered which was my goal. In my study there were many things on shelves that were just gathering dust and had no purpose, and she helped me either discard or organize in my file cabinet. Elaine has a very good aesthetic sense, being a visual artist and this matches my own artistic and visual appreciation of space. She is an extremely pleasant and gentle person, so working with her is a pleasure!

 + 0 moreIt went terribly well. The Girlfriend was overjoyed and I felt I had triumphed. Elaine's artwork is very evocative. When she paints a fishing village, a woodland or a city scene, you feel you have been there and smelled the same smells that she did as she painted. She paints mostly in watercolor, but also in oil. She depicts a scene in broad sweeps of color that somehow envelope you in their aura.
Description of Work: My son has a girlfriend who was about to become fifty. She's a psychotherapist, very well educated in many fields. I was having difficulties as to what to give her, because although we like each other we don't know each other very well. I asked Elaine if I could look at some of her pictures, and miraculously found The Perfect Picture. It was not only a beautiful watercolor of Boston Harbor but it showed places that The Girlfriend knew and loved from her student days.

 + -1 moreI highly recommend Elaine Abrams as a dog or house sitter. She is a lovely woman. She is calm, attentive to detail, followed all the instructions we left, and spoiled our canine child as much as we do. She truly enjoys this work and gave our dog a lot of love. They went on lots of walks, Ollie went to visit a nursing home with her, and they had a good time together. She spent a lot of time at our house, which is great as other sitters we have used have been gone for long extended hours, but not Elaine. Elaine also watered our plants and the house was extremely tidy when we arrived home. You will have absolutely no concerns about Elaine being in your house. Elaine recapped the visit in a note. In addition, there was a long note from Ollie telling us everything that he and Aunt Elaine had done together and how much fun they had! I have already contacted Elaine about another stay. You can be totally at ease about your house or pet while on vacation if Elaine is sitting for you!
