It was one of the worst experiences we've ever had with a person. We got a really bad lead from Angie's List, if that's where my wife got his name from. He could write a book on how not to do something and to lie about it. There is no excuse for poor quality work and walking away from it is even worse. This is someone who did a drywalling and didn't take a switch plate off and just drywalled up to the switch plate and didn't even take the switch plate off and then never sanded. It was just horrible. He didn't even put screws on a deck in a vertical and a straight line. The work he has done is already falling apart. It's horrible. It was a lot of money. I think he was going through a difficult time in his life. Towards the end of this thing, I had no sympathy, but at some point I must have had sympathy for him. At the end I think I had more sympathy for myself. Screws were put in at irregular depths, irregular spacing. The trim was not removed. He used the right kind of screws but he did not use any kind of jig that made them go into the right distance. It was very sloppy and it's very obviously sloppy. It actually split some of the wood. There were two different jobs, one was redoing a deck and one was redoing an interior wall. The sheetrock was put up in a bad manner. They use a material called mud or drywall compound. It was put on unevenly. It was not sanded, not smoothed. My wife had to redo it all. The deck was put on in such a way that the boards split. It's embarrassing to me because I hired him. We pay money to Angie's List, so she did the research on this. I merely said, "What would you like done? Who would you like to do it?" She told me and I listen when she tells me who she would like to do something. I did what she suggested and he turned out to be absolutely horrible.

He provided me a quote within 24 hours. He started and completed the job in the time frame initially given at the quoted price. His work was terrific.

House is divided into two condos, I am on the first floor. The upstairs owners had a shed dormer put on one side of the 3rd floor, with a pretty flat roof. The contractor put a shingle roof on the dormer, which was inadequate and violated the building code for such a flat roof. He also put on two skylights that were not the right type for a flat roof. The roof failed along with the skylight flashing, with regular leaking. We were forced to replace both the skylights and the roof, using a rubber roof. The roof cost $5,350, and as owner of the other condo I had to pay my share of that cost.

He did some work last year and we are going to use him again. He is very good. He was very responsive unlike some contractors who are not good about getting back. He was very responsive, he came over and gave us the quote and gave us a reasonable price. He was very clear about the price and the work that was laid out. We got quotes for the kitchen and his quote was as good as you could get, because kitchens tend to be expensive. He does good work and he is very straight forward and he doesn’t try to oversell. He does the work that you ask him to do at a reasonable price. He is not a super high end builder which is not what we are looking for but he is somebody you can trust him in your house. He proved himself the last time and he is very available.
