Scott and I agreed on initial price of $750 to install two storm doors and fix wood work around it, specifically rotted wood at base of doors. He acknowledged that it might be difficult to fix the wood but that he would piece it together. He gave me this quote without looking at the project, but I had sent him pictures. Although I thought price was still kind of high I went with scott with expectation he would be able to figure something out. He came out and said there is nothing he can do about the wood, and I had asked him if this changed the price and he said “maybe a little but the effort was still the same”. Mistakenly I had him install the doors still and he only took $50 off the price and for only two hours of work I ended up paying him $700 and I still have rotted wood around doors! So he charged me a rate of $350 an hour. My mistake for not settling price at the beginning, but definitely feel ripped off. On top of this, I sent him a text afterwards explaining my frustration with end result and price and he didn’t really do anything except to place blame on me.
